That is all I am seeing this season is fighters getting tired quick...I hate Brock as much as the next guy but I don't see any of these guys lasting 1min. with him.
Most of these guys won't even fight at heavyweight, they'll all drop to 205 for survival, because they know the Brocks and Shane Carwins of MMA are too damn big.. There's not that many guys here that have to fight at heavyweight..

Exactly correct. Even Rashad started as a heavyweight. A fighter has to be legitimately that big (like Marcus Jones) to compete at HW. Walking around at 280-300 and cutting to 265 for the fight. Look at the 205 guys...they walk around at 230-ish, sometimes more. Imagine any of those fat s on TUF trying to bang with Lesnar? No way at all. Even though Kimbo is in shape, he will never survive at HW. He's just too small. He's got to get to 205, even 185 for his height, IMO. He's way too thick to be effective at MMA.

why was this fight hyped so much by e? it was pathetic to see two men with a combined 11 fights in pro mma to be gassed by the 3rd minute in the first round.
If there was ever a fight that took the "arts" out of "mixed martial arts" this was the fight. Those guys fight like they came straight out of some 1998 NHB.

    Ugly.

Indeed he did and if you look at him he's a small LHW. He is about 5'11 maybe closer to 5'10. Everytime you see him next to Page a big LHW you see the difference, as he is 6'1 and easily 225-230 walking around. The heavyweight division is still relatively weak because it is just easier for these guys to cut, to 205 then bang with these monster natural heavies..

I was thinking the same thing, but then I remembered that the matches are only 2 rounds. Could they use work on conditioning? yes. But I don't hold it against them for throwing everything out there in the first round. I'd try to kill the other guy in the first round, and if I can't I'll just hold on for life in the second round hoping I did enough damage in the first.

They each took a few good punches to the head and stayed in the game. Matt won, Scott...well, in the totally opposite words of Denny Green..."[Scott Junk] is not who we thought we was."

Will Marcus end the sweep? I say yes.

PS: Rashad being a former compe or, and winner, of TUF means he has a much greater respect for the TUF process than Rampage and he doesn't like how he's disrespecting the process by not coaching and being there for his fighters. Rashad is setting the example, and he will make Rampage an example if they ever get in the ring together.
Well the fighter for Rashad's team was 2-0 and the guy from rampage's team was 6-2-1, they should already be in fighters shape.

    Or will we?

I don't think we will, but they keep pimping him to keep people tuning in I guess.

    my predictions for the quarterfinals:

    Marcus
    Roy
    Brendan
Matt (but if he cant fight id pick Kimbo over McSweeney)

Wren-Nelson is gonna be a good fight. I love all these match-ups.

Tonight was the first episode I ever said "Just walk away Rashad." He went at Rampage too much and I think he went about asking for training help the wrong way. And, I still hate not being able to see that match soon enough.

Marcus is MUCH better than I thought he was, and I don't think it's just because of his size. I kept thinking 50% of his game was intimidation factor, but he can move fo' sho. I think Marcus/Darrell is gonna be good, I think all of them will be good fights coming up. We're more adjusted to the fighters and their personalities, so the investment going into these fights will make it more exciting than the opening rounds.

I'm getting the feeling they'll be teasing a Kimbo appearance on next year's TUF because of a possible injury; there's no possible way they're leading the audience on to keep the ratings up..

How can you not like Marcus? That Green Mile from Kimbo was priceless and the eagerness he has for the game makes him look like a little kid. That was some pretty decent groundwork he displayed for a guy of his size and if he keeps on improving in that area, it'd probably help with some of usual stamina problems that come with a guy that big.

'Page was annoying me a little bit for a while there, but I think I'm over it now. That sucka' comment to Rashad made me lol.

Oh, and my crazy, astute, observation of the night: Dana's not a fan of Roy..

Good match tonight for Marcus. He is very humble, eager to learn and very respectful to others. His stand up is not that great and I think that can be his downfall but on the ground he looked comfortable and suprisingly quick. I hope he does make it to the finals and wins the show.

Anyone with a decent punch will knock his ass out in a hurry. Marcus stands up way too straight w/ his chin just hanging out there. I love the guy, but he's gonna get ktfo next round.

Also, I'm betting on the chubby bearded kid fighting Nelson -- I think he's gonna win it all.

You can't tell much of anything from one fight that lasted like 20 seconds, and his JJ looked pretty good on top of being a monster of a man..

I agree, but I'm just telling you, that in the 20 seconds I watched, it looked like . If I was a bettin' man, I'd put money on him getting knocked out next fight. His BJJ looked pretty good though, which surprised me.

Should have gone to the third round, but it was pretty obvious Roy would have won it anyways. I wanna say Kimbo is gonna come back.. if it was any other fighter injured we would know, but with meat head who knows..

I think it's a conspiracy that the mma judges are so ty, nelson did not win round 1

That's just the show trying to keep people tuning in, letting them believe he is going to be back.

Wren is gonna be a decent fighter. I thought Nelson had a good jab and is pretty quick on his feet for a big boy. Nelson knows how to pace himself. I think he submits Justin in the 3rd.

I agree. I thought Roy was pretty well owned in the first round- and two judges gave it to him?

Definitely a 3 rounder, but Nelson would have won that round. He's good at pacing, and he's smart. Dana is stupid to talk when the goal is to win the contract, gotta strategize.

Wow, no love for TUF this week? Ya'll are making me double post >.>

Brenden should not have been allowed to hold the fence all those times. In the real octagon, that's deduction of points. Jensen had to work that much harder with that cage hugger ignoring every warning like it was an option. When I first saw Brenden fight outside TUF, he did that "throat slit" thing and I thought that was poor form. Now he does it with Jensen in a match where he constantly throw ring rules out the window. I hope someone beats his ass good, make the "throat slit" sign, and keeps him from getting that contract.

Shocking Kimbo twist next week: TUF has been teasing everyone to milk rating, only to learn Kimbo has a bummed knee and won't fight until...TUF 10 Finale. OH YEAH!!! *some sarcasm intended*
