One theory is that it's because they are turned on by the aggressive sexuality of their looks, a kind of masculine trait that those dudes can attach themselves to because it reflects their deep desires for a "strong" sexual counterpart to be dominated by.
Normal looking women, thus, begin at 5 and depending on actual ugliness and the judge's subconscious sexuality, range from 1-10.
ANYWAY...when taking into the ratings, you must always remember that "morning face" is the most important. If a don't look good enough to wake up next to in the morning (8-10), find a better yo. Or, get two 5s, cuz that's about as good as one 10. Maybe better?
