I think having a guy like Haislip out there would be good, even on defense. He might not be a great defener, but at least he is quick enough to keep up with some of these guys. our guys can't even keep up with ing Okur.

Hairston and Ian would look decent in the back-to-back tomorrow..
I think Pop will be surprised with how well athletic players can compliment aging star players..
I hate seeing Hairston on the bench when some scrub "Matthews" is scoring on us..
Ugh, I am starting to think we are the Orlando Magic. We are taking way too many jumpers. We need to do the same exact thing Utah is doing, which is pounding it inside and penetrating. When Parker penetrates, he either scores, gets fouled or finds the open man for a good look. We need to do that instead of relying on 3-Pointers from Bonner and Ginobili.
AND, we need to get better on D. Our Post Defense looks pathetic right now, which is way Utah has like a trillion points in the paint. This is why I don't like Matt Bonner getting so many minutes. His defense is pathetic. McDyess is looking like a s of his former self on Defense too. Why isn't Coach Pop playing Ratliff right now? Isn't this what we got him for? Post Defense? Because right now, Bonner, McDyess and Blair aren't cutting it as help for Duncan on the Defensive End.
Anyway, thank god Tony Parker went into Beast Mode in the 2nd Quarter and we are only down by 10. If it wasn't for him, the lead would be a lot higher. Hopefully we can start penetrating and getting better at Post D in the 2nd Half. I am sure Coach Pop is ramming it into their brains right now.
oh yeah and if pop isnt going to play any of the athletic young guys this is the way were going to look all year!! if were not playing haislip and hairston or mason bogans mahinmi trade the motha ers for someone you will play!!!
Right now, Dice looks like Kurt Thomas. Let's hope this is just an early season snap-shot.
Put Malik over Finley!!!
When I saw this team on paper I was hoping great defense, ease into the offense.
Right now it looks like we are going to have to start from scratch on both. That's a huge huge disadvantage for a team looking to win a championship. Too many new players. We're going to have to pray to the basketball gods that it all starts clicking in a healthy fashion come RRT time.
Also when it comes down to it Barkley is right. We're still a small team. You need youthful length to win in this nba these days.
Not old not-too-mobile bigs.
If McDyess, Bogans and Mason want a ring they better start showing they want it. Those 3 guys have yet to show diddley squat. Not to mention Bonner who has to be the weakest rebounder for a guy near 7' tall in the league. Yep, this team needs lots of work if we expect to beat out Boston for the Championship. Right now we'd get swept 4-0 by the Celtics. Course so would everybody else!
A split on this back-to-back would be great. The way it's setup, losing both is very realistic. The Jazz really need this win and then the Blazers tomorrow will try to run the Spurs out of the building.
I would give up the moist I'm going to get for the next 6 months if we could become the Orlando Magic..
D is the key.
It ain't there (yet).
Thing is, as it seems right now, another move won't really even help. Right now, Parker's drop in play overall is something the Spurs could not account for. I expect the team to be fine in about 15 more games.
Hopefully they can win some while they learn.
Thank you Tony!
Coach Pop better play Ratliff in the 2nd Half. We need size and rebounding in the Post. Not white jump-shooting big men.
Just saying...
Get used to it, at least for a while. He really needs to learn the defense we play and the only way is playing him minutes and letting him screw up. He'll get better.
I also think older guys suffer more the long wait betwen games, as far as losing rhytm. Manu and TD looks too out of sync and slow.
allright lets get this second half started
Finley apparently "won" the spot over the offseason. If he was outplaying everyone else...then this team is in for a long season.
Ya i know...that's where the "wow" came from.
for those who doubt mcdyess, he's just easing into the season. like kurt thomas and robert horry before him, mcdyess is a professional and will start showing up in the second half of the season and the playoffs. thomas and horry were both pretty bad in the beginning of the season but both geared up near the end. no question, mcdyess wants a ring very badly.
bonner bonner bo bonner
You can tell there is absolutely no trust with the D. No chemistry whatsoever.
But i feel like its something that can be fixed. These guys are still learning.
Also DeJuan Blair is a bad ass steal, no doubt, but he looks wayyy to freakin slow on rotations and getting into position to be a real piece on the floor when we want to clamp down on D. I don't see it as him being confused and hesitant, he just doesn't have that lateral quickness and change of direction quickness to get into a good position.
I'm hoping and hoping it's because of his indecision but he looks slow on rotations.
It's way too early to make a move..
We have an athletic 7-footer(close to it) on the bench..we have an athletic wing player that has proven be belongs in the NBA on the bench..I don't like Haislip, but we have him on the bench too..
We have some guys that can fill some holes, even if the odds are against it..you can't know what you have unless you try it..
ahh im getting sick of second chances.
Hairston, yes!
Ian, no ing way! That guy is a bust that should be shipped off to Memphis or Timbuktu.
