I'm really sick of logging on here following a Spurs loss to find a lot of the Spurs fans on this forum complaining about the team and about our hall of fame coach. We suffer our SECOND loss of the season and people are proclaiming that "the Spurs suck", "RJ sucks". Does anyone realize how hard it is for a player to join a new team? Not to mention one that is used to scoring 17-20ppg and being the the 1st or 2nd option on his team and having to readjust his game after 8 seasons in the NBA? Not only is he trying to readjust his game, he is trying to learn a new system at the same time. Give the guy a break. I'm STILL happy he is here, we will need him when it counts.

May I remind the Spurs fans on this forum that the Spurs last season began 0-3. We then went on to a record of 2-5 including losses to Miami, Phoenix and even the freaking Bucks. We then went on to a 54-28 season despite all the injuries we had. It is nonsensical to expect the Spurs to make these changes and not have any sort of transition period where the players get accustomed to playing with each other in the rotation, especially when 30% of the guys would still be really sketchy on the details of how the offense and defense is run. For those who are complaining that RJs defense today against the Jazz was horrible, did you notice Richard yelling at Blair for not providing weakside help on more then one occasion? Spurs fans should know that defense is a team effort, the guards and small forward will always look like terrible defenders with the NBA offense-friendly rules if the big guys in the paint don't step up and help out. I'm not saying Blair or RJ are terrible defenders, but this is a classic example of this miscommunication and two guys still learning the defense.

We are only 4 games into the season, we have surpassed the 1-3 record we had at the same time last season. It is unrealistic to expect immediate improvement from the beginning of the season. Don't even get me started on how 2 of the big 3 barely touched a basketball since our early Playoff exit. We all need to relax and support our team, and our coach. They need time to mesh and will put together another very solid le push. We have no right to complain after 4 games.

The people that 'flame' me will probably do it with the same immaturity that they insult their own team with, in which case I could not care less...

    stfu about real "true" fans.

Some people choose to accept reality instead of sugar coating their perception of the world around them.

It is about time for the "It's only November, It's only December" crowd to come out in full force, but they have looked like clowns the past couple seasons. It's a good thing SPAM never goes bad.

I'd go on to say a TRUE Spurs fan puts in the time scouting other elite teams and then compares them back to the Spurs. Doesn't take thermal nuclear-dynamic-flux capacitor science to understand how much work the Spurs have left to do before the playoffs with the pieces they have.

It's not a matter of sugar coating, it's a matter of realistically evaluating a team after four games. Nobody can realistically expect this team to come out with the returning all-stars being rusty, besides Tony, and the new additions and just be clicking on all cylinders from the word go.

Why must we look at everything with rose tinted glasses? Sometimes it's better to call out the team when they were bad (last night), and praise them when they are good (opening night so far)

Sometimes, calling out certain players for blowout losses when they played only 17 minutes is quite stupid.

lol every season there is a fresh batch of spurstalk n00bs who don't get it. EVERY LOSS = 139014908 Worthless Threads. If only there were that many threads when the Spurs WON a game. I guess they are expected to go 82-0, tho.

The reality is that it is indeed only November. But if you don't think the Spurs will get any better over the next 78 games then by all means, panic away.

All I have to say to you idiots is, when the have the Spurs started off strong? Much improvement is needed and if the Spurs are playing like this during the stretch run , then yeah I would agree with you idiots saying they suck. C'mon dumbasses it's only four games, last time I checked a season was 82 games long.

wait a minute, that means you are making judgments about them in only 17 minutes of play as well! you are either a hypocrite or stupid as well, according to your previous post:

Sometimes, calling out certain players for blowout losses when they played only 17 minutes is quite stupid.
in addition, my criticism was never limited to just them- i was only responding to your post about 17 minutes of playing time, which those two players were the only ones who met that criteria.

It's not about our record over 4 games ... it's about the million-dollar question everyone asked before the season began - will Pop persist with Finley and Bonner this season? And now that we all see the ugly answer, fans are realizing that things haven't changed much in Pop's mind, despite overhauling the team over the offseason.

Come on guys. Let's not dictate what a true Spurs fan is. Let's have a big-tent policy on Spurs fans.

Pop needs to watch the game from a tv so he can see how bad Bonner is.

i think you guys made a pretty good point but to tell the truth, thread authors are overated. with 3 or 4 guys starting a thread about Blair being a beast or tp being a ball hog, you log in ST and feel like half of the forum is sucking Blair balls or hating on TP...
never forget that threads don't reflect ST posters opinion AT ALL

that being said, go spurs go!

Wrong. The reason why the Spurs lost is because they played horribly. Don't even try to twist the logic. Everyone is at fault. Don't blame Bonner and Finley. You might as well call out the whole team.

I saw Parker not creating and only passing when he didn't have a shot.
