So stupid she got an indefinite ban. Yeah, some of those things are clearly cheapshots but sports gets emotional at times. The worst mistake she made was doing this in front of someone who got it to Sports Center.

@ Spurs fans being all "OMG CHEAP SHOTS". Mother ers you'd better have ed about Bowen a lot then.

See Lambert isn't the stupid one there...the NCAA is.

They gave an indefinite ban to the only person who has ever been able to get a sportcenter highlight for Women's college soccer on ESPN.

In fact near as I can tell, she is the only interesting thing in the history of women's college soccer to the average sports fan, and they just killed it...

Back to obscurity and being bankrolled by football for the entire sport. Nice move NCAA....

This may be the most brilliant move since they gave SMU's football team the death penalty.....that was a real genius move there.

What are you some kind of bully?

If you notice, it was the same two girls(including the girl who kicked the winning goal) that were both cheapshotting Lambert.

That blonde girl that elbows Lambert in the chest at the beginning is also the girl that punches her in the face later on in the game. She did both to Lambert, first.

The brunette who gets tripped, in addition to being the girl who scored the goal at the beginning of the game, pushes Lambert, then holds her, before Lambert yanks her ponytail.

A cheap shot is a shot you do not know is coming...it is not the retaliatory shot. If you take a shot one someone, you should expect something to be coming in return, and when it does, it is not a cheap shotespecially if the initiating shot was itself a cheapshot.

The fact that you think Lambert was supposed to take a cheap shot double teaming, from not 1, but 2 girls, for an entire game and consider her the cheap shot artist means your perceptions are totally skewed.

Lambert had 2 girls cheap shotting her, first, when she was not expecting it, she took them both on and kicked both their asses when they knew it was coming. She is the awesome one and it's the other two s, who incidentally flopped like mother ers and faked injury to gain sympathy in ways on girls can, that are the dirty cheapshotters.

And on that trip, at the beginning of the game the ball is kicked over Lambert's head and the brunette chick, who incidentally is also the girl who shoved and held Lambert, scored a goal on it, that same chick was breaking for the goal and Lambert IMO, obviously said you , aint no ing way you are scoring another goal after all the cheapshotting you and your team have done.

Lambert is good, fair and tough.
Those other two girls are the cheapshotting dirty players.

    Watch the video again.

And don't let Fowdy's analysis fool you, she is paid to the say the approprite things...look at the smile on her face, she loves Lambert and the way she plays.

BTW, you want us to take more of interest in Soccer...you can expect more of this, so be careful what you wish for.
WTF kind of skewed idea of sportsmanship have you developed??

and for the record, I couldn't give a flying whether you are interested in "soccer" or not. Your ego has no limits man.

I'm sorry but you guys are always whining about Americans not caring about Socer...don't say you guys don't want us to have more of an interst in it as it's a patently untrue claim.

I'm not saying you guys want it for any sincere reasons...I suspect the reasons, at least at the organizational level are financial more than anything else.

Anyway...you have a nice long life ahead of you walking lockstep with the media and doing as you're told. Quite an enlightened path you have laid out for yourself.

My opinion has absolutely nothing to do with the media. In fact, I've never even heard or seen either of those ankors before. I've got eyes. What that chick did wasn't apropriate behavior, no matter how much you would like it to be.

Indefinite ban? After all the attention she brought? It's not like it was totally unprovoked behavior, baby gurl had a bad day and took it out on the opposing team that was picking at her. It's okay to be a in sports and hide it from the refs, but when you whip that out to show others not to flex on you...INDEFINITE BAN? Soccer sucks.

Zidane? Or late tackles with es up? Those could end a career, not just a game.

And I bet this ban doesn't last all that long, much like the Blount kid from Oregon

Your idea of sportsmanship seems to be that it's ok for not 1, but 2 people to cheap shot an unsuspecting player and when the unsuspecting player retaliates against the suspecting players, she is the cheap shot artist and agressor for kicking thier ass and not disguising her retaliation well enough.

What makes it even funnier is that you are the most defensive poster on this forum over imagined slights to your country and seldom let a comment pass, as you expected Lambert to let those cheapshots pass, without some kind of retaliation...I see absoutely no evidence that you practice what you preach on this board, let alone in real life confrontations.

You've also alluded to physical confrontations with me when I have ed with you about your country. Which also indicates a tendency on your part to...not let it pass.

In conclusion, I dub the thoroughly full of and guilty of trying to say the right thing and expecting others to walk a path you yourself show no willingness to walk.

Nice try whottt, but making up isn't going to help your argument. I never said what the other chicks did was acceptable. I'm arguing against your claim that what she did in retaliation was acceptable. That's bull .

are you serious? I'm not playing on an official university sanctioned game. You seriously can't be this thick. You think I'd be complaining if I saw her doing it outside on the street? Give me a ing break.

You've also alluded to physical confrontations with me when I have ed with you about your country. Which also indicates a tendency on your part to...not let it pass.
That was when I first got here, having never been on any other forum before this one, I was unaccustomed to the class of dumbasses that roam boards all over the net. It caught me offguard. It took me a while but two things happened, 1) I grew thicker skin and 2) I figured you out. Seriously, get some new material, you're getting sloppy in your old age.

Yeah, because Zidane didn't get any punishment for his actions.

es up is now an AUTO-red card, whether you connect with the other player or not. If the ref sees it, you're gone, regardless of where you are on the pitch.

The fact that we've seen worse somehow makes this chick's actions justifiable? I think not.

And lol at Whottt's at ude. "I'm right, EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG LA LA LA".

FYI, it was the SCHOOL that suspended her, not the NCAA. Might want to get your facts straight before concocting such a strawman to support a non-existent argument.

You've also alluded to physical confrontations with me when I have ed with you about your country. Which also indicates a tendency on your part to...not let it pass.

Love the toughness, but Lambert should've shown more patience and guile. In this game there's lots of ways to get someone back. The flow of play will bring the chances to you.

You can murder the other guy on a fifty-fifty ball, or shoulder charge him when he isn't looking. There's lots of ways to do it that will seldom even draw a foul. Whereas straight up violent conduct seldom goes unpunished.

I disagree, pretty much all sports have their enforcer headhunter types and that is clearly what the lovely Miss Lambert is.

Not only would I say she is not a negative to her team, I would say she is a positive for the entire sport for the simple reason that she got people interested, in her, and in her team.

I myself was fully prepared to adopt the New Mexico women's soccer team(since I had no women's college soccer team other than the automatic UT/Texas State affiliation) for the rest of her career just to see how it played out...and now?

    Back to yawning.

I sincerely hope Miss Lambert has not played her last collegiate game, that the fans of her team(which will probably be mostly women) are going to rally around her and raise with the NCAA to get her reinstated, say a threatened boycott of their own team...and I hope she is rewarded for actually being interesting with a spot on the National Team where we can then watch her beat the out of everyone on the International stage and make us proud in the way that only an ugly American can.

Boring is never good in sports you see and anything that isn't boring(such as this hot woman who beats the out of players who cheap shot her) is good. Boring is never good. Not being boring is always good....at least when the purpose is entertainment.

She already ranks as like...the 10th most famous soccer player(men and women combined) in American history and probably has the #1 spot as far as being interesting goes.

The worst thing we could do is attempt to get this woman to be something other than what she already is. She doesn't need to change, everyone expecting her needs to...she's right, they're wrong.

If she murdered someone on the field, I would cheer for her, because that would be interesting, and therefore good, and good for soccer.

I also do not understand the difference between a suspension handed out by the team and one administered by the NCAA.

This may come as a surprise to you, but you are on ignore and have been for years. The reason you are on ignore is frankly because as a general rule there is literally nothing you have to say that I am interested in reading and a big part of the reason is because you rely almost exclusively on strawmen and think technicalities invalidate greater arguments.

I assure you I know the difference between a University and an NCAA suspension, it's not that great of a feat...what I did not know, because you are on ignore, because I think you completly suck as a poster and generally am uninterested in engaging you in any sort of dialogue, and your above post totally illustrates why btw....and because I simply did not care to look it up for myself because I don't think it's that important and extremely unlikely to be permanent, is that in this case it was her own team that suspended her. You see my response was to Manny, not yourself and it was not specified in his statement.

In light of this new information I will revise my statements to accurately reflect the change wrought by it:

    1. I apologize to the NCAA for saying they were approximating the stupidity of giving the SMU football team the death penalty. Whew, that was a close one.

    2. ing awesome, there's absolutely no way that suspension last longs if it was a U mandated one. That whole boycott their own team thing will really have an impact now.

There we go...all updated now. Thanks for your meaningful contribution to this thread.
