If Hill can run the first unit effectively, Parker should come off the bench. Start Manu at the 2 spot with RJ, Tim, and Ratliff.
If Pop had his druthers, and provided he were available, I'm sure he'd be more comfortably bringing back Jacque Vaughn.

And the most disturbing thing about that is you're probably right!
What a meltdown this board whould have if that came true. It would be epic.
An 11-million dollar per year backup. Now that makes sense.
1) We are paying 10.7 million to Manu this year (and 12.6 million to Tony to be specific.) So we are paying 11 million (approximately) to a backup anyways...
2) It is an interesting proposal - it wouldn't be my first choice, but I feel that in general a basketball unit (5 players) needs only to really have 3 strong scoring options, and the other 2 spots should be filled with strong defenders and or creators/facilitators (eg the Brent Barry role). By my count, our current starting roster has 3 strong scoring options (Duncan, Tony, and Jefferson), but the other two spots (Bonner, Finley) are filled with players neither strong defensively or creative offensively. His proposal gives us 3 strong scoring options (Duncan, Manu, Jefferson), and 2 strong defenders (Ratliff, Hill), and leaves Tony theoretically beating hapeless back-up guards who simply can't compete with his speed... The rotations get interesting though, do you bring Tony in for Manu, and move Hill to SG?
Under similar logic, I support the current replacement of Finley in the starting lineup with Bogans - Finley is almost purely a scorer in role now, while Bogans is a much stronger defender (although I will admit, I would have preferred having Bowen on the team to either of them).
"Finley is almost purely a scorer in role now"
now? that's all he's ever been his entire career
I am not effectively communicating my intent - back when he was 29 or so, he was an adequate defender; now he is currently a pylon...
Guess now is as good a time as any to find out if Hill is ever going to be a real point guard.
Well Hill played great last time TP went down and that did not really answer any questions.
