Other than that news article in this thead I have never heard of a driving fatality with the fault being a marijuana user.

Yes pot does affect people who are "lightweights" and does make tham "trip" out, but there are people who can function ( ive seen people drive better) while smoking weed. Peoples bodies are different and what might be dangerous for one person is not for the other.

    Its really that simple.

If you choose to drive while experiencing a self induced impairment
Marijuana doesn't impair me. Or my driving ability. You are wrong if you say it does. That's all I can tell you.

I just find it hard to believe that people can be so convinced of their own immortality that they jeopardize the well being of others to attempt to prove it to themselves.
I don't think I'm immortal. I'm sure if I were in a crash, I could be injured or die. Anyway, I'm pretty sure last time I went to the store, I was just getting a half gallon of milk. If you want to say my real motive was cheating death in an attempt to prove to myself I could? Well, go ahead, but it's ridiculous. I'm a ing hypochondriac for Christ sakes; everything scares me. Not driving high though, because really, I have nothing to be afraid of. Neither does anyone else.

I have nothing against getting high or drunk or whatever. Where I have a problem is when those actions have the potential of interfering with mine or loved ones' lives.
My being behind the wheel of a car, with THC in my brain or not, will never affect you or your loved ones lives. Or anyone's life besides my own. My driving habits are no more dangerous or in any way different as a result of whether or not I've smoked. I'm no more likely to be involved in any sort of a crash. It's not your concern as you have nothing to be concerned about.

Answer to your question: No, you ing idiot. Never did I claim to be, only that I know I possess the ability to drive while high and others don't. There's no shame in being a lightweight. Ask ANYONE who smokes weed and they'll tell you they'd much rather be a newb.
    I never claimed you were.

So you'd rather be a newb? Are you ashamed of being such a weedsmoking heavyweight?

And as for your story, nice copypasta especially considering the dude just fell asleep at the wheel and him being high didn't directly cause anyone to die. Anyone can fall asleep at the wheel, moron.
Not everyone gets indicted for DUI for simply falling asleep at the wheel.

Why are you getting so butthurt in this thread?

Just curious, how many of you have or currently engage in this activity?

    I combust hemp daily.
When I was still smoking, I had a job where my partner and I would have to travel from Atlanta to Miami weekly for about 3 years straight. The company would provide a rental car and it was a long drive, so we would get high for 900 miles there and back again. What made it sweet was the company gave us 75 dollars cash for emergencies, so they actually paid for the weed. We also had a company credit card so they paid for our bountiful feasts, and our partying. I miss that job.

And you're proud of that behavior? No wonder this country is going to . Did you ever think of the liability your employer was exposed to because of your irresponsible behavior?

it's really no big deal... you make it out to be a big deal but it isn't. i know people who smoke all damn day and keep up 4.0 gpa's in college, i know lawyers and doctors who smoke, and i know most people have tried smoking. i know your stance is against driving but if you're a good driver to begin with and a seasoned smoker then there really is no problem except the people on the road with you who are more prone to hitting you.

if you got in a car with me while i was blown you'd never even tell a difference in my driving and i'm a damn good driver.

Driving on weed is easy. Real ing easy. If you want a challenge, try driving on acid or mushrooms. I drove on these bad ass mushrooms once and was falling down the rabbit hole after like 20 minutes. was dope.

I trip and drive on the reg and it is hands down some of the most non-sexual fun you can have on drugs. My particular vehicle makes you feel like you're in a video game. But if you have the right set of tunes that can be magical.

One of my favorite questions is if I'm hanging out with some friends and there happens to be someone there who doesn't know me and we decide to leave and go somewhere else... I'll always insist on driving and most of my friends trust me to drive while tripping, but the new person will always ask me if I'm too ed up to drive.

    Funniest joke I've ever heard.

then you'll never have to worry about a DUI charge unless you accidentally swerve for whatever reason and a cop pulls you over.

    Wait...what, Mr. Strawman?

I'd think you could find a better case than one where some kid has several different drugs in his system at the time of the accident.

Maybe you should spend more than one minute finding cases that back up your argument.

    Just a thought.

You can get charged with DUI if you are found to be under the influence of any kind of drug.

    Just a fact.

    Didn't read the entire thread...

Haven't smoked in something like 6-7 years, haven't even been around it. But when I was younger, I smoked regularly around the ages of 21-24. Not daily, but almost every weekend when I had it and a few times during the week if I didn't have too much school work. Don't drink too much now either. Pretty much a drink occasionally on the weekends type of person now, not even every weekend though.

I definitely smoked and drove at the same time and a lot. But, I do think there's a difference between getting in the car and smoking a joint or two and being completely baked out of your mind and getting in the car to drive. My friends and I would generally smoke a joint or hit the bowl a few times and then get in the car to wherever we were going, getting fast food, a party, the bar, wherever. But, if we were smoking to get baked, we didn't drive. We'd just order a pizza or something and veg on the couch.

I don't condone driving under the influence of alcohol or weed. But, the two are not the same. Yes, at some point, you zone out on weed, but that doesn't mean the OP meant he does that. He could have, but I didn't read it that way. Smoking a joint while driving while you still got your senses and motor skills isn't much different than having a couple beers and driving. Is it right? No. Should people do it? Not really. But, is reality that there are plenty of people that do? Sure. I'm completely against people driving when they're not in position or state of mind to do so. But, I'm also a realist. It happens. Hopefully, the really baked and really drunk people aren't the ones on the roads. But, you have to understand there will be some that have smoked or drunk a few and gotten behind the wheel.

Ah, maybe I misread the initial post. My bad.

Has anyone been convicted of a DUI solely on Xanax? I'd guess that if it wasn't prescribed yes, but if it was it'd have been thrown out.

I don't really give a what you think. Also, just because I'm calling you a got (which is completely true) doesn't mean I'm "rowdy and butthurt."

Why do you frequent a forum where everyone hates your ass anyway? Are you some kind of glutton for punishment? I guess when you have no friends in real life, any attention is welcome, huh?

And yes, I have a very high tolerance to pot. I wish I didn't. Like I said, I would absolutely LOVE to be a lightweight again.
