"Balls to the wall" Ginobili...![]()
http://deadspin.com/5403254/live-cha...lard#c16756380On an aside, when I asked players around the league about who else has a killer instinct, the names that came up most often were Paul, Duncan and Ginobili (and Kobe absolutely loves Ginobili - probably told me 3 times how Ginobili plays "balls to the wall," which is Kobe's preferred compliment

If Spurs dont re-sign Manu, you gotta believe Kobe will be pushing for Manu to sign with the Lakers...imagine Manu coming off the bench for Kobe...![]()
That's not half as scary as Manu on PG, playing next to Kobe. This has been my worst nightmare since Kobe publicly admitted his admiration for Ginobili.
We better make sure that we resign the sucker.
I have no doubt in my mind that the Lakers will persue Ginobili if he ever makes it to the free agency.
Manu playing for the Lakers would be my worst nightmare.
Great, I had never even considered that scenario for some reason. Now it's going to be stuck in my head. That would be like something from my worst nightmare.
I would cry if I ever saw Ginobili in a Lakers uni.
Can the Lakers even offer Manu any amount of money that's respectable?
If Manu leaves to the Lakers i'll still be in silver and black... im in this for good and forever...

Talk about your Freudian slips.
please enlighten me since i don't understand...
^ lol
Top priority is to resign Manu, then pursue Splitter hopefully.
This site has made me a life time Spurs fan, so even after Manu leaves I will remain a Spurs fan, however if he gets traded I would obviously like to see him and his team doing well, except if it is the Lakers. My hate for the Lakers is stronger than my love for Manu.
Funny, there's this Argentinian I play ball with who's a lifelong Lakers fan from way before Manu came into the league. Even after Ginobili became a Spur, he stuck with the Lakers, and now I think he doesn't even like Manu, which I think must be a capital crime or something in Argentina.
That would be a sad sad day in San Antonio IF ginobili ever left not just to the lakers but anywhere.
Even if we didn't resign Ginobili, the Lakers wouldn't have anything more than the MLE to offer him (unless Kobe opts out and takes far less, which isn't likely).
Let's enjoy Manu for now.
I can't fathom him in a yellow and purple jersey![]()
thanks Shooga' I was self

On the plus side, Lakerfan would have to finally abandon the Kobe-as-best-closer arguments.
Chris paul or paul peirce?
get real. LA is not for Ginobili
I see him coming to play for the Wizards. there is an argentine connection there. see Oberto.
Arenas/Ginobili guard combo would be sick!
I've been looking for a clip of Kobe's film where he points to Manu and says, "Now that's a bad boy".
In all honesty, the Ginobili craze has absolutely disappeared here. No surprise either. Basketball has never been a mayor sport here and will probably never be. Manu's success was the thing that garnered all that attention not basketball. Bandwagon at its basest, and bandwagon fans don't last.
I must admit though, it gets pretty tiring having to listen to people in here talk as if Ginobili is some kind of god here in Argentina, when in reality he was only really popular for about 5 years or so. Now, most people here just know who he is and more importantly, that he hasn't won anything for the past couple of years... that is until the Spurs win again and everyone pretends to be a fan again. I ing hate that about our culture, not to imply it doesn't happen elsewhere but still.
By the way, I know a ton of Argies that aren't Spurs fans or Manu fans. Most are former Bulls and Laker fans. Shocking! isn't it?
