You're right on that - I don't plan on buying it or reading it. But here's my summary of the woman herself:

She should've never been asked such a politically charged question at a beauty pageant, especially by a person who is a militant sexual. She gave her opinion (which is the same as Obama's), and then has been villified and criticized ever since. She would've never had any problems with the Miss California Pageant people if not for that question. It's a well-known fact that these beauty pageants are run by gay men - and they took offense at her answer and decided to punish her for it.

Maybe she didn't handle things as well as she could have - but she is still pretty young and was totally unprepared for the backlash. I admire her for stating her beliefs and not backing down in the face of all the criticism and persecution. The video tape is an unfortunate development, but she's apologized for it and I think it may serve as a good teaching tool for other young women.

She probably would've been better served if she'd just stayed out of the spotlight for awhile - she's a lightening rod right now, and it's not doing her or her cause any good. I wish her well and I hope this whole experience will serve to change the way beauty pageants are run.

And Perez Hilton should just shut up and go away. Is there anyone who really likes him? He's loud, ugly and annoying.
