That's a horrible idea. I would sooner part with West than I would Okafor.

A source with knowledge of the situation says the Kings are discussing a trade with New Orleans that would send Kenny Thomas to the Hornets and bring center Emeka Okafor to Sacramento.
The deal would be ideal for the Hornets, as Thomas' expiring contract worth $8.7 million is just the kind of contract that would trim their enormous payroll. The question, of course, is whether the Kings see Okafor as a big man solution worth the five years and approximately $62 million left on his deal.
The 6-foot-10, 255-pound center who was the second pick of the 2004 draft out of Connecticut has averaged nearly a double-double (10.9 points, 9.2 rebounds) in his six-season career. He spent his first four seasons in Charlotte before being traded to New Orleans in late July for Tyson Chandler.
No deal is imminent and this is merely a discussion between the two sides at this point. - Sam Amick

Kings should just have some capspace and try to get a superstar. Not get a guy who would not bring you anywhere near the playoffs.
At least there is hope. Basically, Okafor is not even going to give them legit status. They should trade Kevin Martin to the Hornets instead. It is like New York trying to sign LeBron James. I mean, seriously, who wants a frontcourt pairing of Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries as your sidekicks with the most talented of the crew like Gallinari and Wilson Chandler sitting on the bench.
sons I hope we do it. nothing against Okafor because he puts up solid numbers, but this would help out tremendously for next season as well.
I cannot see Paul signing off on this. I would unload him if I were the Hornets because they have no shot this year. But I don't think Paul would agree to giving up.
JHo for Okafor. Hornets get an expiring and an energetic wing player and the Mavs win the 2010 championship.
That puts the management in a tough spot. I can see why the Hornets aren't legit contenders this year, but I cannot understand why they are so bad overall. They have the pieces where they should be a playoff team easily.
Unloading Okafor does not do anything for them next year however. They would need to move Peja as well.
Even if no one picked up their options next year, the Hornets would be sitting at 52M. If you take out Okafor, that puts them at 40M or so. But Peja is definitely is not going to exercise his ETO.
son sounds like a plan. that would go along with the Mavs 2006 NBA championship and Chris Paul's 2007-08 MVP award.
I can see this. Mavs should be all over this.
I don't really understand why Sacramento would do this deal..Okafor really doesn't help them in a significant way..they already have Hawes and Thompson, they already have Evans as an up-and-comer, and they have good role players..
They should be focusing on looking for a move that will unload Kevin Martin for some cap space and picks, and then get another lottery pick in the off-season..
Okafor doesn't help them in any way IMO..
sons do they have any room to sign as it is? Rudy Gay is available this offseason.
No. If they don't trade and even if the unlikely event of everyone not "picking up their options" they will be at 52M.
sounds too good to be true. they get out of a horrific contract and combine it with peja the trash thats about 20 mil expiring? and with a top 5 pic coming cause they will suck. would be good for them
