For sure. Auburn really enjoys being schizophrenic. It pisses me off to no end and makes games hard to watch. Congrats to SMU. June Jones is the coach now right?
I'm here now. Sorry I wasn't around earlier. UGA took a back seat today for me. I was at the SMU-UTEP game today to witness my Mustangs win and become bowl eligible. I rushed the field with the rest of the fans and students. I am so proud of that team right now.
As far as the UGA-Auburn game goes, I saw most of it. I missed the first quarter because I was out celebrating the SMU win with friends. I've gotta say, I will be impressed with myself if I predict the entire UGA season correctly. I am now 10-for-10.
good luck to Auburn the rest of the season!![]()

yep, June Jones, aka miracle worker!![]()
take all of these got sec refs out back and do away with them.
GO JAWJA!!! Great win today. Damn, so from my preseason predictions, the ONLY game I missed was the Kentucky game that we choked in.
I'm proud of Auburn, they fought till the end. War Damn Eagle
In relation to Bowl games, how many wins will the SEC get? What will be the record? Will it surmount the Pac-10??????(in pctg)
Chili, props to you for being dialed in to the Dawgs.
Thanks to all the good posters who weighed in during the course of the season, especially the Big-12 cats (mookie/CBF/J-6/etc) who gave their two cents worth.
I really appreciate being able to voice my thoughts, whether good or bad, on this site. Kori, TimVP (and your weak ass college takes, LOL)
I look forward to next year.
Yes, the ale is making me sentimental, but so what? If you don't like it, then go yourself
SEC! I am going to get a starter jacket made that says SEC on the back, just for you mook!!!
This board rules. I am willing to crush peoples faces in to back it up.
I had to look at my bowl pick ems to see...I have the SEC going 7-3 and the Pac-10 going 3-4. A lot of the Pac-10 teams have tough matchups. I think the Mountain West duo of Utah and BYU could sweep Cal and OSU. And Stanford plays OU. Oklahoma may suck in the BCS bowls, but they usually take care of business elsewhere. Oregon won't have it easy either, though I do think they win.
I am so torn over UGA's bowl game. At first, it couldn't have been more perfect for me. The Independence Bowl may not be a big time bowl, but it is in Shreveport, and that couldn't have been much better, being that I'm in Dallas. Plus, they are playing Texas A&M. How perfect. I have friends that either go there or used to go there. Everything about the opponent and the location was perfect. But then I checked the date and my heart plummeted. December 28. Well that's just great since I make my annual post-Xmas trip to Arkansas from the 26-29th. It's always the same dates every year. I'm pretty sure my A&M friends will be going, but I'll be stuck watching on the TV in the countryside.![]()
Chili, every bowl game is a big one. Is Richt in trouble?
He'll definitely be under fire, regardless of how the bowl game turns out. But I don't see him going anywhere. The assistant coaches were the problem, IMO, not him.
I also expect UGA to be pretty good next season. If you look at Georgia's recruiting classes from 2006 (Stafford and Moreno) and 2008 (AJ Green, Richard Samuel), they are spitting images of each other in terms of the talent (# of 5 and 4 stars). The one issue is that the QB issue isn't set, and it will likely come down to two 2009 recruits Aaron Murray and Zach Mettenburger, with Murray very likely being the starter in 2010. UGA also has a stud WR from the 2010 class, Da'Rick Rogers. I fully expect Rogers to be for Murray what AJ Green and Mohamed Massaquoi were for Stafford.
Also, for the record, I think Tennessee is going to be very very good next season. As in #2 in SEC East good. Looking at their schedule, I think they are capable of rolling through the last few weeks with wins left and right.
And trust me, it pains me to say that considering the Vols are my #2 most hated team, behind the clear #1 which isn't hard to figure out.
Georgia reloads. No big story there. But Lame Kitten has made a big impact upon recruiting, especially in the state of Georgia. Are you feeling good about this year's class?
Auburn is killing it as far as recruiting. 28 for the year plus 5 more early enrollment. The tigers got a couple HUGE commitments from the JUCO ranks that will count toward last year. Chizik is recruiting nationwide, and the talent he is bringing in will effect the depth next year, something AU lacked big time this year. I hope UGA murders UT
I am absolutely not feeling that great about this class. Not saying it's bad by any means, because ...it is currently ranked #9 in the nation. But the problem is that it's only 5th best in the SEC. It looks a little bit like the 2007 class. I wouldn't be surprised to see UGA have a good year or two coming up, and then 2012 be a lot like 2009.
Right on man. The recruiting rankings seem to favor the SEC this year even moreso than past years. Do you think the media bias towards the SEC has anything to do with that?
I'm really not joking about UGA taking the east every year. I ing hate UF and UT, like USCe or UK even matter when it comes to FB. When I went to Athens, it always reminded me of the plains, not just the landscaping(which is nicer in Athens) but the people. West GA folk and Auburn folks are very similar in their style and temperament.
Well the recruiting rankings I look at come from rivals, and it ranks the teams on a points system. So I know it's all subjective there. The SEC is just that good. The top 10 on that list in order are Texas, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, USC.
PS- I figure I will make a way too early prediction on how the SEC will turn out next season in the standings. I wanna be able to check back next December and see how close I got a full year in advance.

I love Athens, it is such a great town. I wish I got the chance to go there more often. I have my eyes set on hopefully attending a game there in 2010; either the Arkansas game in September or the Tennessee game in October.
judging by last season, your predictions will be spot on
Living in Cali is such a departure. I miss the slow drawl of a southerm woman more than you could ever know, although I don't care how they talk once their legs are split.
But it's cool. Cali just has a different flavor. Women here want to save the earth. Cool with me so long as my is involved in that process.
Those that malign the south don't really know the deal. It's a hybrid of the slow, the silky, and the beautiful. I wouldn't have it any other way. The longer you're separated, the more you miss it.
The reason the oldest rivalry in the south remains an amicable one, is because the people make it so. Football will remain more than just a sport, it will forever be a joining together of like minded individuals. Nowhere is this more true than the UGA/AU game every year. AU/UGA people are far more alike than UA/AU peeps will ever be. I like that. I also like classy UGA fans more than I will ever like trailer ridden UA trash.
Football is but a starting point for wonderful southern people to coalesce, so long as fans of their enemy aren't present. And goddammit, that's the way it should be, whether you're from Texas or South Carolina, and all points between.
Long live the south
If you don't like the previous statement, you're probably from Ohio, (sorry Oden, you're cool)

I looooove me some southern chicks.
yeah, for as long as the Auburn-Jawja rivalry has been around, you'd think there'd be more hate involved. But there really isn't much. Maybe it's because there hasn't been a Brandon es-type eye gouging incident between the two teams like there was with Florida and UGA. I have no problem with Auburn now and I never did in the past. In fact, Auburn was one of the schools I applied to.
The teams I hate with a passion are Florida and Tennessee, and just below them is Georgia Tech. I hate them too, but nowhere near on the same level as I hate the first two.
