The Blazers do look focused… (The few games I have seen)...No Hollywood distractions like a team I can think of...

The Blazers have the best defense in the NBA.
Stop rubbing your eyes, you read this correctly. The Blazers have the best defense in the league. Better than Boston. Better than San Antonio. Better than Cleveland.
The Blazers are allowing 87.9 points a game, the best average in the league and opponents are shooting 41 percent from the floor, also best in the league. The Blazers have held opponents to less than 100 points in 10 of their first 11 games and they have held their last four opponents to less than 90 points.
The prowess comes from a team that couldn’t guard a broom closet earlier in the season after Houston rolled up 111 points on the Blazers Oct. 31, leaving some observers to wonder if the Blazers would ever be capable of playing good defense.
All the speeches, complaints and encouragement from Portland coach Nate McMillan are finally paying off. The Blazers are more committed to playing better defense. Those factors played a role in the team’s current six-game winning streak and surge to the top of the league rankings in team defense.
A bigger factor is the Blazers’ recent opponents. The Blazers’ last four wins – and those nice defensive stats – have come courtesy of playing against teams with a combined record of 9-32. Two of those opponents, Minnesota and Charlotte, rank in the bottom four in the league in scoring.
Atlanta will provide a much better test for the Portland defense tonight.
The Hawks (the last team to beat Portland) have won four consecutive games, have scored at least 100 points in their four home games (all wins) and have reached 120 points in three of those wins. They are averaging 116.5 points a game at home this season.

LOL @ Blazers have best defense in the NBA after 10 games, epic fail
They don't have the best defence in the NBA. Those metrics are deeply flawed (and the sample is too small and skewed).
Having a defence better than San Antonio really isn't hard.
