I'm impressed and shocked that the Pistons have a 5some in the top 10 considering Tay and Rip have been out.

That's 4 guys that opposing defenses have to worry about. Most NBA teams are lucky to roll out 3 of those guys. The Pistons have a chance to be really salty this year once those guys get healthy.

The Suns' starting 5 is near the bottom of the list, despite the fact that they have the best record in the league. Just goes to show that our bench is getting the job done.

Is that because the proliferation of stats means it is now much easier to show that certain opinions are bull and the poster knows nothing about basketball?

Adjusted plus/minus is a flawed metric in my opinion, but this one is very useful.

It wasn't hard to guess that much. Too bad we don't always play that lineup to close games

Adjusted +/- for individuals is pretty useless, but KG/Perkins/Rondo/Allen/Pierce is one of the best 5-man units. Is that SO surprising?

Ya, thats it. Just call it worthless w/o having anything to back it up with. Dont mind that this is the lineup we used to kick the Lakers ass. We're also second in the conference in point differential.

Five of the top six best two man combinations for the Spurs involve Matt Bonner. My dumbass opinion is that Matt Bonner is not the best player on the Spurs, but I guess if the statistics say so...

Matt Bonner starts alongside Tony Parker, Richard Jefferson and Tim Duncan, no? While he's a scrub/role player, he can hit threes and spread the floor. On a team like the Bucks or Nets, who cares? Matt Bonner isn't helping your team. On a team like the Spurs, he can contribute.

Adjusted +/- for individuals says the Zombie Sonics are much worse off with Kevin Durant on the floor. That I don't put too much stock in. 5-man units tell us which combinations work the best. Usually these things are weighted for a minimum of minutes played. It absolutely does not surprise me that Bonner is part of 5-man units that perform well for the Spurs.

Non adjusted +/- stats are meaningless at best and misleading at worse.

Adjusted +/- stats can be okay if your sample is big enough - like 3 seasons or so.
