The celtics aren't getting kobe here people.. Calm the down.![]()
No Kobe comparison at all. That would be ridiculous, but man I would like to see him with the Spurs.

There's no role player that can make a team "unbeatable"..
the NBA is a star's league..if KG doesn't play like an all-star, they're going to lose..same with Pierce, and same with Allen most of the time..
Nocioni adds depth, but he doesn't guarantee anything at all, he's just a role player, even though he's a good one..
Role players might not make a team unbeatable, but they can be the difference, especially if that role player is being added to a team with multiple superstars. You Spurs fans know all about that with a guy like Bruce Bowen. Look at the difference a guy like James Posey did on two different teams. Rasheed had a "star" name but played as a role player on the Pistons.
A role player can absolutely be the difference between winning it all and not winning it all. Might not be the main or biggest reason, but he could be the difference.
Of course they make a difference, a HUGE difference..that wasn't my point though..a role player can never make a team "unbeatable", especially when it's a guy like Nocioni, not even a top-tier guy..
Also, I highly doubt this trade is going to happen..Sacramento wasting their huge dump contract for Dalembert would be ridiculous..

As key as he was SA doesn't win in 2005 without Duncan and Ginobili playing the way they did against Detroit. Nocioni does help them, but still, Boston's biggest question mark is what do Pierce KG and Ray have left.
I am not even comparing Nocioni to Horry.
just saying that Horry helped the 00-03 lakers, 05,07 spurs be unbeatable. So there are role players that can take a team over the top.
In that sense I agree.
It won't happen.
Even if it does, big ing deal. He would add depth but this teams fate is going to depend on the Boston three party's health.
You can say that about any single player, even megastar player. LeBron alone can't make a team unbeatable. Michael Jordan alone couldn't make a team unbeatable. Wilt alone couldn't either. Your point is pretty much common sense.
Of course Nocioni or any other role player isn't going to make a team unbeatable. But, a role player can be the decisive difference.
The Celtics wouldn't have won in 08 if Tony Allen or Scalabrine were playing Posey's minutes. Role-players can be and frequently are decisive.
What I wanna know is why in the would Sacramento and Philly do this trade anyway? All they're doing is helping Boston and not even benefiting themselves that much. I mean...Scalabrine? Really?!?
It's not a talent for talent trade. I mean, Kurt Thomas for Richard Jefferson? Really?!?
My point was common sense, but it was in response to the people that were saying the Celtics were going to unbeatable if they get him..so I said if for a reason..
I disagree with your first comment though..if you add a Lebron/Kobe/Wade/Paul/Howard/Duncan/Anthony or whoever to the Celtics, I would argue that they would be a lock for the le..so it is possible..
Because of who the Celtics already have on the team, not because of Lebron/Kobe/Wade/Paul/Howard/Duncan/Anthony. You add any of those players to the New York Knicks, the Knicks would not be a lock for the le.
That's why if you add the right role player (not a superstar) to a team filled with superstars and the right pieces, that role player can similarly be the difference.
It's not on one individual player, role player or superstar.
I know..that was never my point..
my point was that adding a player like Nocioni would never make a team unbeatable, which was what some people on the 1st page were saying..I never said he wouldn't make a difference, my point was that there's no way he would make their team more of an elite juggernaut than it is..
sacramento. who is running that team. are they stupid? why take on a horrific contract
I know Westphal is a good coach, but Nocioni >>>> Dalembert. Push for playoffs, as if. Kevin Martin traded for lottery picks or send him to Utah may be a start for a complete rebuild. By the time Evans is 26, Martin is 32. If they want big 2011 contracts, Kirilenko is that way. If they are looking towards 2010, Boozer is also there. They also have their Utah pick, Eric Maynor, the Knicks unprotected guaranteed top 5 lottery pick. Trading Martin to the Jazz would also help the Jazz to get their legit starting shooting guard relieving their need of a go-to scorer down the stretch.
backing up PP isn't too bad. but will he be able to cope?
Nocioni got a DNP against the Bulls.
Is the injury real or the trade is done?
