If I were Gentry, I'd suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team and call him out publicly. This season is gonna go south really quick if Gentry is anything like Porter or Antoni and doesn't hold StandandAdmire accountable at all.
It was more than just Amare, the whole team neglected rebounding and defense. Gentry needs to nip this crap in the bud ASAP. If I was in the stands I would have come down and given them a demo on what I learned in Gradeschool basketball. Note where your opponent is, stick your ass out and keep it between him and that basket.
Well as you said he's just like Lebron. Amare doesn't play for the Suns, Amare plays for Amare.
He's doing a pretty bad job... But I'm not completely blaming Amare. I'm calling out Gentry this time around. It was clear from 3 minutes in the game what was wrong and he failed to correct the situation.
Agreed 100%, Gentry better not react like Antoni, "Rebounding isn't the issue, we just need to shoot better and run faster."
And it centers around Amare, he's done absolutely nothing to deserve being named a team captain. If this problem is going to get solved, the "captain" is going to need to set a good example as dumb as that may sound.
Again I agree. The coach is always to blame when the entire team is obviously unprepared for a trap game like this.
I get the feeling they made Amare a captain just to stroke his ego to keep him from leaving. He definitely didn't lead by example tonight, but he's just part of the problem. I think Gentry did comment something about shooting better in the second half during half time. If it was me, they would have received a screaming fit laced with incoherrent rants about rebounding and closing out.
If in order to keep Amare they have to give him the idea that he's become a complete player worthy of being named team captain then keeping him is more trouble than it's worth. Whenever you have to start putting players before the rest of the team holding them to lower standards in order to keep them, that means the player needs to go.
Either way, I'm just pissed they lost to a vastly undermanned inferiour team in such an embarrassing manner.... Time to get some sleep. Man I'm pissed. Sorry for my rants tonight, but this was a ty game.
sons tonight was the first time this year I have seen the Hornets play with some fire. Other than West, EVERYONE on the floor came to play and was hustling like crazy. CP3 was going nuts coaching on the bench lol. great win for the team. time to turn this around.
sons we saw the 2002 Peja tonight. rare sighting now days.
When he goes 2003-04 on everybody, let me know. That guy could've been MVP.
is it any surprise that the team effort, energy, and fire have gone up ever since that gutless little flopping whiny was sidelined?
CP3 is an on the court cance When your leader quits on you, like CP3 did in Game 4, you lose respect for him... Hornets team doesnt respect Cp3, which is why they play harder (and better) without him.
I guess you don't have to play your hardest or best to beat the Mavs then November 4, 2009!
J/k!![]()
Son, this win had nothing to do with the Hornets, it had to do with neglecting every fundamental in the game of basketball.
Do you think the Suns came out expecting an easy one?
Sons that's exactly what happened. Prior to the game they were 10th in the league in rebounding, not bad at all. They simply came out expecting to coast through.
I couldn't get it. Every time NO shot, the suns players would just look up and wouldn't box out, didn't jump, or anything. The NO players would just move in for position and on numerous occasions just jump behind suns players and snatch the ball away for the rebound. It's like someone instructed the suns to remain flat footed and not move the instant NO shot the ball. It was frickin' weird.
This loss pisses me off extra badly because if any road game this entire season they should win, it should be this one. A team with two of its best players hurt, a new coach, west in foul trouble, what the ?
The fact is New Orleans are the better team. Plain and simple. No ifs, ands, or Ghazis.
If we could ever trade David West for Dalembert, I would be happy.
Rough week sittin' & scratchin', but, watchin' those f'ks get their clock cleaned in New Orleans was a nice welcome back.
& old Predrag no less. He always did have a hard on for the Suns. That ain't changed. We put him into a psycho ward, him that f'k brother of his, Hedo, but, the Suns? Uh, uh. He owns their ass.
tee, hee.
They do look like each other.
