interesting
Guarantee you this fight never goes down.
It says he is taking another tune up fight, because the negotiations will take forever. That's true they will take forever.. The fight's gonna happen, too much money to be made.. Might take as long as a year though...
How is Money ducking Pacman?
Both fighters will probably fight in early 2010 and have the big fight in late 2010.
Yep.. It's not exactly a state secret that Floyd is having money problems. He needs this fight to happen and he knows he can win. I don't think he has doubts about that..
sounds good...while shane and berto is going at it...PBF is gonna fight some junior wealterweights.
It's gonna happen just be patient, i will be friggin shocked if Floyd doesn't take this fight. Like i said he needs the money.. Nothing he loves more than that..
im just annoyed by the lack of compe ion PFB takes. I have more respect for Cotto, being that he has already fought Pacman, Mosely, Clottey and Margarito. I just hate the fact that PBF talks so much about how he is the greatest yet never tries to prove it with the top guys in his class.
/vent
that link is not true.. its either a joke or just made up to make fun of floyd... those three fighters listed are C class fighters and I think they all have fights coming up (e.g. Salita is fighting Amir Khan... Khan is huge favourite)
this fight will happen because Floyd thinks that he is the pound4pound king while Pac-Man and the rest of the world think that he is the pound4pound king.
Floyd is also worried about his undefeated record. He says that why he is the greatest, cuz he hasnt lost while the rest is beating each other up. =P
If PBF is having money problems, it makes perfect sense to fight one more high profile match before you have the possibility of losing your undefeated status. Taking on a good profile UK fighter in the UK sounds like a good money maker, something to have put away in case the Manny fight puts PBF away.
But really, anyone know why negotiations would take longer than a month or two? Sounds like ty negotiating if that's the case.
Mayweather thinks he deserves more than he reallyt does, he wants 65 percent which is crazy
Money deserves 60-40 if he wants because he is the cash cow in boxing.
Compare the last few fights for Money and Manny. Who has the biggest pay-per-view numbers and who sold more fights with common opponents? Money brings in more money from casual fans than most fighters. People want to see him lose.
Both fighters will probably get 50-50.
50% of maybe the highest payday of all time or 80% share fighting some nobody Floyd.. Seems like an easy call..
Manny's numbers are stronger as of late. ulatively yes Money has been the man but as of today nobody brings in more than Manny.
Manny and Cotto sold 1.25 million pay per views.
Mayweather and Marquez sold over 1 million and people said the fight was going to sell less than 1 million.
"I don't recall Pacquiao in 2 fights doing 2.5 million homes and generating $250 million in one hour". - Money

I would call that smart not ducking
its called not having a legacy.
Last two fights:
PBF/ Hatton - 915 Thousand
PBF/Marquez - 1.05 Million
Pacquiao/ Hatton - 850 Thousand
Pacquiao/Cotto - 1.25 Million

Common opponent Mayweather still has 65 k on Pac. I Think it should be 55-45 money split for Mayweather since history shows him to be a slightly bigger draw - even over the last 2 years.
they should both get 50-50... win or lose they both retire anyway...cant see them generating 1.25mil+ buys after this fight... and for the rematch.. winner of the first fight gets 60-40
the only other fight that will generate good ppv buy is the Margarito/Cotto rematch
You think the 65k would justify a 10% difference based on there second to last fight? I dont... especially when it shows that "currently" Pacman is just as popular or even more popular then PBF. I'd go 50-50 if i were them...there is definately enough money to go around.
Hahaha, you picked the last two fights.
How much did Mayweather and DLH sell compare to Pacman and DLH? Why didn't you post those numbers? Mayweather has a history of selling out stadiums and making people buy his matches. Mayweather sold over one million PPV's with Marquez when people expected the fight to sell around 400K. Manny just started selling more because of the hype, but Mayweather has a history of selling more.
1.25 million for the Cotto fight is a disappointment with all the hype and promotion the fight got.
Of course i picked the last 2 fights. Fight negotiations arnt based on how much you sold 2.5 years ago buddy. He isnt the number one draw right now, whether you like it or not.
