NBA Power Rankings: Nov. 29, 2009
    Mike Monroe

    TOP 10

    (Last rank in parentheses)

    1. Lakers (2): Bryant, posting up more often, challenges Gasol to one-on-one post game; The winner? “Not him,” says KB.

    2. Nuggets (7): Melo scores 50 in fourth straight Denver win; is he MVP of first full month of season?

    3. Hawks (1): Bibby’s left ankle injury not too bad; he scores season-high 21 in Friday win over 76ers.

    4. Mavericks (3): They have to fall at least one slot after losing to six Warriors; Bounce-back game against Rockets was inevitable.

    5. Suns (6): Did you see Nash’s between-defender’s-legs pass to Robin Lopez? If Melo isn’t MVP of first month, maybe it’s Nash.

    6. Magic (4): Van Gundy: ‘I’m not going to be waving pompons and stuff,’ to which we all say: Thank goodness.

    7. Spurs (15): They won’t go winless on road; Ginobili’s pending return is just in time if Mason is out a while.

    8. Celtics (5): Here’s a shock: Rasheed Wallace is mad about what he claims are unwarranted technical fouls.

    9. Cavaliers (8): Shaq’s back, but is that a good thing? Cavs look awful in O’Neal’s return from shoulder trouble.

    10. Thunder (13): Making their debut in our top 10, and with five straight at home, they could move up.

a top3 seat is well deserved for Denver imho, and it's also good sign for Spurs to move upwards and return to the range of elites. although the Spurs will miss Bowen and his defense as the season goes deeper, especially in playoffs provided Spurs will reach that far.
Of course they'll reach the playoff. WTF are you thinking?

Even if we know how the story ends for the Suns, it's pretty ridiculous to have them below the Mavs; this is supposed to be a barometer of current success, correct?

    When was Mason injured?
He was hurt against the Rockets, it's a hamstring problem.
