I would think most do or don't mind unless they got height issues. Most ppl here say "babe or baby" to refer to the loved one. I say "honey" or call her by her name(which happens to be ANGEL). Which is strange cause in high school I would hear old folk calling their loves ones that and was like "i'd never call my girl that"

Women, in my experience, do not like being called any generic name. Any pet name you and her may have created is acceptable because its unique (I have one for my wife).

My take on it, any use of "pet" names made popular by rap music are automatically insulting to women, period. Shorty, hoe, , ...all unacceptable names when referencing a woman who isnt a paid pros ute.
