yesterday was an interesting day for me... my buddy from LA showed up on my doorstep out of the blue. he is in town because his father bought him a car here and this weekend he will be driving back to LA. i am most likely going back with him and chillin' out there for a couple of weeks. here's the kicker though, i might stay permanently. i have yet to decide if i am going to stay out there, find a job and make cali home. such a big decision, huge step in my life.
i'm excited and anxious at the same time. i've always wanted to move to the west coast and the last time i visited LA i didn't want to come back to SA. i just don't know how i'm going to make it out there unless i find a decent job which is hard enough to find here in SA.
oh well, at least if all else fails i will have a killer vacation.
cali bound...

The idea sounds exciting but the reality is that you're not going to find a job out there.
Basically. It sounds like a great idea if you can find a job. Unfortunately, in this economy that can be a big if. But if you do find one... Welcome
Good luck man.
bag groceries in the millions of supermarkets in LA, that will get you started.
Good luck finding a job in that cesspool.
It's really hard to find a job out here right now, dude. I've been looking for a while and I've gotten nothing but part time jobs and eventually laid off.
California - it's a nice place to visit, but... who the would want to live there?!
Word!
Become a porn star.
I'm in Orange County and I love it here. If you can live in/near a beach city it's much nicer than LA.
True. I have a friend with a Ph.D in EE whose company made a stupid investment and went under more than a year and a half ago who is still out of work.
SoCal is awesome once you get a few miles outside of LA. I don't like the city itself, but there is just so much to do around it. The surrounding areas are spectacular.
Lots and lots and lots of people apparently. You should get out more.
some chick from my college is a porn star now, it's weird to think about. Google Bridgette B
googled and...... yuck.

If you stay, expect to pay at least 2.5-3x as much for rent and some mad state taxes (state income tax is a flat 9.5% or so unless you're either really poor or pulling 6 figures). Gas is significantly more expensive and food is a lot more too. Not to disparage Cali; it is an absolutely incredible place to live, but you pay a price for it too. If you like doing a lot of stuff outdoors, it's probably worth it though.

Wow. This should be changed to Piss on koriwhat's Dream.
stop being so negative
.....move to south gate !
Touche.![]()
That's kind of a town for Mexican's. I doubt koriwhat would move there. If he did, he'd live pretty close to me.
it was pretty much completely hispanic the last time i visited there
Any spot out there is all hispanic. Lynwood, South Gate, Santa Fe Springs. You don't start seeing black people till you head further south to Watts and Compton.
yeah thats her. Her name is Lucy and went to Kent State, but says she is from Spain
