Pop has lost it for 2 years now. I wasnt surprised when I saw Mace in. Mason aint the player he was a year ago.
Benching Manu and playing Mason and allowing him to chuck 3s after 3s when he's not even hitting, killing all the momentum the Spurs had and destroying any hopes of a comeback. At least Phil finally stopped playing Sasha.

I'll give Pop credit:::he ain't mashin' the panic button. He's finding out who's naughty & who's nice and making his bed. His restraint is extraordinary.
Which is fine, but Manu was contributing MUCH more than RJ THIS game...why not go w/ the hot (or at least, HOTTER) guy?
i have a little more faith in the guy whos helped us win 3 les then Mase.
He should have had faith in this one guy, Ginobili.
Even Manu had 2 bad lapses this game. He looks loopy.
Agreed, but the lesser of two evils, and all that...
All the so-called "great coaches" seem to have these moments. They also all overplay one old guy as someone pointed out a few weeks back. Dunno why.
not at the moment.
well I know pop see's that the lineup that made the spurs come back in the game included roger mason so I guess he wanted to keep the momentum ginobili had a bad game once he starts being ginobili again which should be later on the season and being healthy then thats the time to be worrying
He's giving everybody an opportunity to fail.
You don't ever lose it in December.
I have to agree with you.
Never thought I'd see the day you were trying to comfort an opposing fan.
Kobe sent Duncan and Pop into early retirement after the 08' thrashing.
You're tha most confusing Cavs fan EVER...and that includes that dumb ing JJ Hickson troll.
- "I believe in being nice to people on the way up the ladder.....because you're going to see the same people on the way back down."
- "Ralph Kramden" - "The Honeymooners"
It wasn't thrashing you ing Cleveland re .
Game 1 we are up 20+ and choked it, Game 3 we won. Game 4 we gave away with boneheaded plays and game 5 we had a 20 point lead. That was all with an injured Manu who barely averaged 10 points a game for the series. It was as much the Spurs pissing away the series as it was than LA beating us. Sure as didn't get thrashed.
I thought you would know what being thrashed means after the Cavs last trip to the finals?
According to the postgame Manu was only scheduled for 20 minutes and was at 19.
this is so hard..ok...
I........agree with you.
I could be wrong, but it looked like Pop was resting Manu and trying to somehow get Mason's confidence back - he owes it to him after ruining it by putting at the back up pg last year. Mason's game against Boston last year might have been in Pop's head.
