Valentine's Day of 2004 we had freezing rain and an ice storm ... the roads were . . People are crazy.
I know SA will NOT see any freezing rain today. Its going to be either snow or bust. I think the coastal areas had rain earlier and they might still have rain but its not going to freeze. Its too warm at the ground that rain is starting off as snow but melting as it comes down into warmer air. There is no warm air aloft to cause freezing rain.
Pretty neat. Might not be too bad as the system gets closer then. Hopefully we get flurries at the least even if nothing sticks.
If I'm going to freeze my ass off like this its the least that the weather can do.

It's really coming down right now. It's melting when it hits something, but it's still big fluffy Hallmark movie style snow coming down.

Yeah Houston has a ton of moisture to work with. We're not that far form the Gulf but we might as well be in New Mexico the way the winds are blowing.

I just got off the phone with my mom who lives in Floresville. Our conversation went like this:

Me: I'm so jealous!
Mom: I made homemade potato soup and homemade french bread.

Right? Without moving to a window view, I can't tell, but I think it's still too warm to be anything but wet roads and I can drive safely enough.
As my friend A just pointed out though - it's not the wet roads, it's the people gawking out their windows at the falling snow that is the problem.
