I have been a season ticket holder and that money (Lakers tix among the highest $) DIRECTLY contributes to the bottom line allowing Dr. Buss the flexibility and luxury (no pun intended) to secure free agents. If you don't think there is an advantage to having the highest payroll in the league... well then, I shouldn't waste my time typing. Now, lets forget the finiancial aspects of the topic. 2) Insecure? Some I imagine are as with all fan bases. But come on, they are a storied franchise and the majority of the fans I know (and actually know in person) are proud to be Laker fans. 3) I would challenge you to show me one Laker fan, just one, who actually thinks he is on the team. We do have a direct impact on their success and are proud of it. When the Lakers win... we win.
