I And for a team like Nebraska, who had problems all across their offense all season, to be in every game they played, including the one against Texas, is a testament to how much of a difference Suh made all year.

you're not breaking to me junior. I've got more experience with football than you'll hope to have. No linemen are important, but the pressure to perform, the sheer amount of detail that goes into the position does not begin to compare to the QB. He has the ball in his hands virtually every play and has the pressure to win on his shoulders more than anybody except the head coach. That's a fact, and why the heisman is mainly a QBs award in most years.
So you're saying that linemen don't feel the pressure to win and that because they don't have the ball in their hands, they're not as important? So when a running back or wide receiver don't have the ball in their hands, they're not important either?

How can you defend that statement and claim to know more about football than I can hope to have?

And the Texas Tech offense was held to 259 yards in their game against Nebraska, less than the Huskers could muster with a weaker offense. The Red Raiders rushed for 25 yards on 25 attempts in that game. The reason they were able to pull away was because the defense scored a touchdown in that game, when Suh wasn't on the field.

I'd give the Heisman to McCoy. Most NCAA wins and highest completion percentage is ass tons better than a stud DE on an otherwise bad team.

Stud DT. And he's more than a stud. Heisman isn't a lifetime achievement award. And they would be ing terrible without Suh. Anybody could throw those 5 yard routes that McCoy does. mookie's the only one that see's the light out of all you UT fans.

You don't comprehend I can see. Here's the difference between what i said and what u comprehended, pay attention because I really hate having to point out subtleties like this that should have been understood the 1st time...

No matter how good a DT is, and Suh is the best, the pressure to win and make plays, the sheer effect on the game, does not come close to the QB. Not that they have no pressure or aren't important, I never said that. The reason Nebraska wasn't a contender is because they have for a QB. With a top notch QB that team wins more than 8.

The effect the QB has on the field - positive or negative - will always be more than any other single player on the team because he facilitates the entire offense.

Gerhart is my pick. No way Suh wins it. Between Gerhart and Ingram, IMO

Ingram will win, and McCoy won't finish in the top 3.

Houston has a top-notch QB in Case Keenum and was the better quarterback in every game the Cougars played, so how come they lost three games? All three were to conference teams who have forgettable quarterbacks.

Florida had a far superior quarterback in the SEC le game against Alabama, but the difference was the line play. Without Carlos Dunlap, Florida couldn't get into the backfield and Alabama's O-line opened up big holes and did some great blocking on a designed screen that broke the game open.

Houston isn't undefeated and Florida isn't playing in the national championship because there's WAY more to football than how good your quarterback is. Just ask the New England Patriots, who despite getting Tom Brady back this season, are about as good as they were last year because they lost key defensive players.

Well... we know McCoy will get at least one first place vote because Buck Harvey already said he voted for him. But you're probably right. I think Ingram will win and McCoy will be 3rd or 4th.

McCoy will get some first place votes alright. Suh will get the most. But Ingram and Gerhart will dominate enough with 2nd place votes to land in the top 2.

it's not a team award. Auburn ing shut down Ingram to the tune of 30 yds and a 1.9 avg. Auburn rush defense ranked 80th nationally. Gerhart was far more consistent. Can anyone even remember one signature play from Ingram? Now I have to listen to Bammers compare Ingram to Bo. Give me a in break

It's obvious the team plays a part in the voters decisions, although it shouldn't
