OMFG ; those 2 clowns should have been teammates like 5 years ago

It's well-do ented that Shaquille O'Neal has high standards for coaches. Typically, it takes one of iconic status such as Pat Riley or Phil Jackson to impress him.

    O'Neal

    James

That makes his praise of LeBron James that much more notable.
"His basketball IQ is phenomenal," O'Neal said of James. "He could coach in the NBA right now."
The 24-year-old James has impressed O'Neal with his thorough knowledge of the game -- his understanding of angles, of defensive principles, of how to set up teammates, of how opponents defend various plays and players, and of not only his own responsibilities on the court but those of all his teammates as well.
O'Neal hasn't talked about who's better between James and his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate, Kobe Bryant. But he has told confidantes that James has the advantage in basketball IQ, saying he's the smartest star he's played with in his 18-year career.
James was flattered by O'Neal's comments, but noncommittal on his coaching future.
"I've never thought about coaching before," James said. "I just know the game and have always been a student of the game."

Kobe is actually a skilled player at this point in time, if LeBron doesn't develop some kind of post game or moves besides dribble dribble shoot, or dribble dribble pass, his career won't be anywhere near as long as Kobe's or MJ's.

They're actually two IDENTICAL players. I've always maintained that Lebron was a perimeter version of Shaq. Even their personalities are the same. Front running, attention whoring at it's finest.

If you see their development curve (or lack thereof), it demonstrates this even further.

Two guys that depend 95% on their physicality to get it done.

Having Shaq endorse your B-ball IQ is like having a re call you Einstein.

One thing's for sure, if LeBron were coaching, he'd bench Shaq's ass late in games on defensive possessions.

You're summarily dismissing Daddy's body of work at prime. Sure, O'Neal puts on a facade now, the pressure is forever gone, the diseased simian slain in the Indy Finals, stomped forever in the Philly Finals, but, he was a driven man during that span of time. He could have done what James does now (funnin' about), but, Daddy knew better and he got it stopped before it really got started.

I'm doing no such thing. I'm attributing Shaq's success to where it belongs...and it SURE isn't because of drive and IQ.

He was driven for one year. The first of the three-peat. Finals MVP be damned, the real Finals in championship 2 and 3 was played in the WCF and we know who carried the day.

The rest of it was all God-given. That's a testament to how absolutely blessed Shaq was when it came to sheer physical attributes.

You ferget the taunts of the need to repeat, and you ferget Daddy taking that vengeance out on Mutombo. It was an ADW event that changed the rules in the NBA forever, and more or less doomed Daddy. Sure, he copped that one in Florida, but, his days were numbered after Philadelphia.

Shaq is doing what Mike Brown does. He's fellating the King to make sure his fat ass doesn't cut or shipped out.

Who can blame him? If I were an over the hill petulant I'd do the same thing.

Look at the film of the moments immediately after the Indy Finals ended as he searches at the rope for his people. The anguish is a palpable. No game face, no horse nicknames, just a man who was that close || to Media strappin' him to the Emeritus Chamberlain Post and beating his ass without end.

That's drive to get it stopped and IQ to know where it was headed.

LeBron James Encourages NBA To Stop Jumping In Honor Of Michael Jordan

WASHINGTON—Prior to Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers all-star LeBron James announced that he would stop jumping during professional basketball games in order to properly honor recent Hall of Fame inductee Michael Jordan. "MJ jumped a lot. It was his signature. When players jump in this league, whether for a tip-off, a jump shot, or a layup, they're basically copying what Michael Jordan did when he would propel himself upward and lift both feet off the ground," James told reporters in a press conference in which he asked other players to join him in the ground-staying-on tribute. "The fact of the matter is, without MJ changing the game by making his body go up into the air, us young guys wouldn't even know what jumping is." James later scored 38 points against the last-place Wizards with his feet flat on the floor.
