Yes, Parker should rest a little bit.
But as much as I like G-Hill, he just isn't good enough to be a starter. We're up 20 because TP dished 7 assists...
Manu, on the other hand, could play a little more PG
He doesn't have legs because he can't rest last summer. He must be playing less minutes.Hill was playing very well and We were up by 20.
Why TP is playing more minutes than anyone? That's not good for him and not good for us. 4 TO more for him because he doesn't have fuel.
But the problem is not right now.We will have the problem in February,March and April if we are in the playoffs.
It's not like we are going to lose if TP play less minutes. We are losing anyway and TP isn't helped a lot with his play to change that streak.

They're trying to change his style up to be a distributor, it takes a long time..it doesn't appear that they're going to rest Tony for a big stretch, which is what he would need if a rest is in order..so with the style changing, the best option would be to have Tony on the floor and working on his distribution with the team..it's a tough style to grasp..
I think pop is asking to shoot less and pass more, let the others be involved early and this is what tp is doing maybe this adjustment to be done takes a little bit of time to be totally successful. Nevertheless we cannot complain about the 11 assits of last game and the 7 so far at half.
Not sure what's been more painful to watch tonight; The officiating or Tony Parker?
Atrocious
a double drible called on tp
traverling called
tp turnovers will be up while trying to get new people involved rember he hardly played preseason with these people
better now then later
Tony playing over the summer has little to do with his "poor" performance tonight.
Looks like Pop has asked Tony over the past few games to be a facilitator, and I think he's doing a respectable job. He has 10 assists tonight in 30 minutes.
The minutes are reasonable; he's not playing the full 48.
10 assists is very nice, but the 7 turnovers are incredibly ugly..
Like I said, I'll give him a pass as he's trying to adjust to a new role, but I wouldn't call that a respectable job..
the turnovers i'm seeing don't have to do with athleticism. they're just mental mistakes. he's trying to do extra when he doesn't need to.
I agree that we have to evaluate in terms of a bigger scheme (modifying TPs role). The 7 TOs tonight were bad, but I'll give him a pass if the norm is going to be closer to what we saw agains the Kings two days ago - 11 assists to 3 TOs.
28 Turnovers...
8 turnovers chandler tonight
tonight double drible and traverling were 2 of his turnoers
one of them was a trap
the other were steals I think
I guess we just have to be patient with Tony's erratic play. But in the longterm it wll help the team if he can capitalize on his teammates' offensive capabilities.. he will always have the ball in his hands most of the time so he can pick his spots when to score. 2 points off an assist is always better than 2 points scored off individual effort IMO.
TP is fine. Everybody has a rough night here and there.
They pressed the ball well in the 3rd and we're still learning what to do in those cases. Growing pains if you will.
why so worried about tony parker...
givin tp credit for dishin out 7 assists hahahaha
how about givin credit to the ppl who nailed the baskets....
Parker was good early in getting people involved and then eventually the game got ugly and Parker was a part of that. He had some horrible turnovers. Just god awful. He scored well at times but didn't show much leadership. But we somehow got the win by a large margin so there's satisfaction in that.
You'll always be a , I'll give give you credit for your hating consistency.
When TP is scoring, he's a ball hogg, when TP is dishing the credit has to go to the scorers. What did he do to you ?
It has nothing to do with Pop. Parker is just trying to change his game. The beneficiaries have been RJ, Bogans, Dice and Manu. I think they worked it out and Parker is sacrificing his game and numbers to suit the team better. He just needs to not drive into double teams and end up throwing the ball away or get called for violations.
I agree. I think Parker is working to become more of a distributor. Let's just hope he doesn't lose his knack for scoring off the dribble when we face teams where his scoring is the match up advantage.
And kudos to him for being willing and able to be both a scoring PG and a facilitating PG.
He needs to. There's really no need for him to be the scoring leader he was last year - and even HE would admit that. Of course, it's easier said than done. It takes practice and a willingness to change.
You. Are. A. Moron.
Tony's turnovers, such as traveling, or getting stripped on a one-on-four "break" are constantly "ME" turnovers. He commits turnovers trying to score.
Take a guy like Manu on the other hand. Most of his turnovers are "WE" turnovers. He gets the ball stolen when he's trying to make the perfect pass.
Even Bruce Bowen noted this difference a long time ago.
When Tony passes the ball, the offense will work like it did in the first half. He's got a lot of talented guys around him.
so what ? why not two different stats ? me TO and we TO
what's the difference ? they don't both lead to fast break and easy points ?(indeed TO coming from bad pass intercepted lead to easier fastbreak than others like travelling or offensive fouls).
and when Tony scores, is it not for the team ? does it not count in the Spurs total points ? dumbass.
if you could read stats, you'll see the ratio assists/TO from TP and manu career and tony's one is twice the manu's one for the last three years. check 82games.com. Twice the manu's one.
You.Indeed.Are.A.Moron.......
Yeah, I agree on this one, Pop is probably asking him to pass more. He had again 10 assists, that's nice.
As for himself, I dont know. He said that he wasnt recovered 100% and he does not score so much, like last season. He is probably trying to lead the team more and more, trying different things out with the all the new different players. When it's needed, he will score, like he did at the end of last season, and that makes me feel comfortable.
We need this guy, we cant afford playing without Tony.
