If Dirk hadn't a assumed fetal position in Florida in '06 I'd agree with you.
But, he did.
Dirk over Dwight Howard any day of the week that ends with Y![]()

LOL @ dwight howard getting most of the credit last year when the Magic got to the Finals but everyone forgets that the GO TO guy on that team was turkoglu
He did no such thing.
center is more valuable than a perimter pf. and howard is super young
Dwight didn't know how to get into any position in the Finals
Who cares? Dirk's better.
Any GM would take Dwight because of the age difference. As a coach, some would take Dirk. Look at what "Superman" did last night: 1-1 from the field, 8-17 from the FT line, 10 points, 17 boards and 5 turnovers. Has he really gotten that much better over the past 18 months? The only difference with that Magic team is that they have assembled a dynamite team around him? Howard has a chance to be really great, but he's not there yet. The tools are there, but he still has not developed any kind of post-game. If you want to beat Orlando, you stay home on their shooters and you force Howard to beat you one-on-one in the post. He's not the kind of guy yet who can do that.
not discrediting your statement but he also been in the league about 5 years i believe and his game hasnt improved for ...no post moves yet and his FT shooting (most notably that ridiculous release of his) hasnt been improved
Dwight is stagnating. He improved nothing the last 1-2 years.
Just how to bang ugly pornstars
The Magic got to the Finals last year because that team is ing stacked. Dwight is pretty much the same player he was 2-3 years ago.
I'd go with dirk over howard and i hate those fukers lol
As an aside, I feel bad for Brandon Bass. He left Dallas for Orlando thinking he'd get more PT, and he's been racking up the DNP-CDs and getting garbage minutes. I guess we can hold off on calling Otis Smith some mastermind, since gave 5 years, $34 million for a backup C that plays 8 minutes a game and gave Bass 4 years, $18 million when they were already over the luxury tax threshold.
With all this Dirk love, its easy to forget some of the other players tonight.
Kidd, Damp and Marion all had superb games.
I was out with my girlfriend tonight at the Lakewood Landing and I caught glimpses of the game in the first half. How the did it come down to a last-second shot in OT?
Jason Terry.
For those saying Dwight because of how young he is, don't let his age fool you. IMO, if he hasn't developed a post game at this point, he never will. He's a lot older than 24 as far as NBA mileage goes, when you consider how much his game is based off athleticism, it's even worse.
But, Dwight never had it won. Dirk did. And he let Miami take it from him. He's probably mentally scarred now and can only operate effectively in the meaningless contests, so to speak.
Until he can once again face his demons in the Finals (& persevere) he'll always be rightfully judged for climbing into that crib in Florida and letting Wade change his diapers.
Okay Dr. Phil.

What Dragic said, Jason Terry. He was terrible tonight.
it depends on what your team needs..
if you put Dwight on Dallas, they get a lot worse..they rely heavily on Dirk's scoring and clutch play, and he often carries them on the offensive end..
if you put Dirk on Orlando, they don't gain anything either..they already have a bunch of scorers/shooters, Howard has to anchor their entire D and he's their only rebounder..
if your asking me who I would take on the Spurs, Howard easily..
Howard isn't as experienced and is still young, there's no doubt he's going to be a good player. Over the next few years he's going to develop even more.
You were right until that last sentence. And you knew it too
If Duncan was in his prime, I'd take Dirk on the Spurs..but Duncan can no longer anchor the paint on the defensive end all by himself, and he's also developed a very reliable outside shot now..so Howard is a much better fit right now, at least IMO..
