Spurs when playing a big lineup: 53-30

Spurs when playing a small lineup: 13-26

It's almost like Pop thought the game was going too well.

    One rebound for Duncan?
Yes. We only have 17 rebounds total, which has a lot to do with hot shooting.

    Here's what happened.

RMJ entered at the wrong time.
WHen he came in, I felt he would throw the flow off.
Pop again rotating too many people.
To top it off he went small ball with RJ at the PF and Kaman destroyed him

That alone gave the clippers enough momentum, to bring it back.

We all know how good the spurs are, Pop is seriously killing us most of the time.

Mason and Bonner are looking more and more irrelevant to our success the past few games. Spurs should really consider looking to trade them for a useful piece(we all know how bad they choked in last year's playoffs).
I think it might be that we just have to much redundant players. Mason, Finely, Bonner. They all do the same thing.

When will Pop learn that we aren't a small ball team? We just about always look better with 2 bigs on the floor. We sorely lack one of those young, long, athletic 6'9' SF/PF types to play smallball 4. Obviously Haislip was brought in to be that guy, but obviously not up to the task.

Duncan and Blair to finish off the half would have the Spurs up 30.

Look at the box score. No kidding. The Clippers only have 18 rebounds, but no suprise, they actually have legit big men that rebound the ball.

Can this coach ever use his head? Jefferson, the in-his-prime-athlete with a strong track record of durability is once again playing limited minutes (don't give me the 2 fouls excuse), so that the Spurs can run Parker and to a lesser extent, Ginobili, into the ground against the lowly Clippers? Jefferson should be the one playing 20 minutes in the 1st half in games like this; the big three (and McDyess) should be sitting as long as possible. It's like it's fun for Pop to see how small a lineup he can get away with and for how long he can get away with it.

You knew it was coming as soon as the Spurs went up by 22...over/under on how quickly this 10 point lead is gone? I give it 3 minutes. Turnovers piling up again (particularly by Parker, who at this rate is heading towards leading the league). Just wait until the shooting percentages inevitably fall off; then what? Will the no rim protection lineup be able to hold the fort defensively?

Ask Pop. Suddenly, he wants small ball when Blair is going good.
Yeah, it's like Blair is playing well, thus Pop takes him out??

It's almost laughable, but if he weren't such a great coach I wouldn't feel like an ass calling him out for giving up the momentum by sitting players down when they are hot. But he does that.

Last game, Manu was hot, Pop sat him down. When Blair is hot, Pop all of a sudden sits him down. Etc... Then on the contrary, seems like he leaves players in for too long when they aren't contributing.

I would have to look back on more games for further examples, but my spouse and I always comment on that almost every game.

Matt Bonner has a team high of +16.
I love Bonner off the bench. Sure, defensive liability, but his shooting, driving, and hustle have all been pretty good this year.

He's fine as a Spur just as long as he never starts again.

This is on Pop for playing a weak ass lineup when we were up 25, then not changing back after it got under 20... Also, after thensecond turnover in a row you have to call a time out and yell at them.

    Gotcha. Fluke.

But in general, when we had Bruce we could stop the other team in their tracks most of the time when they started a run. Can't do that any more.
