Sandra Bullock is today's Julia Roberts, except nobody considers her any more than a go-to romantic comedy lead. She's not in Oscar discussions or "best actress of our generation" conversations.
I think she might be nominated for The Blind Side.
I guess there's an outside chance, but I would be surprised...
However, if Julia Roberts had played that role, she'd definitely be nominated. The movie would have been released a month later and it would have been nominated for Best Picture. And this kid would have gotten a supporting actor nomination by osmosis.
Okay this thread is about actors we just hate right? Not necessarily based on their acting skills or the entertainment value of their movies? In that case I can't stand Benicio Del Toro. He totally creeps me out---reminds me of some lech who doesn't wash his hair. Also Gwyneth Paltrow--her whiny voice gets on my nerves
The Daniel Day-Lewis argument cracked me up. I think he's a fine actor, but the snooze factor in his films has skyrocketed since "My Beautiful Laundrette". I'll have to agree with Whott here. Given the choice of watching "The Last of the Mohicans" or "Son In Law".....I'll go with the latter

Other than that, excellent take on Daniel Day-Lewis. him.
Nicolas Cage - raising arizona, the rock, etc
Val Kilmer - tombstone, wonderland, real genius, even batman forever was good with him tommy lee jones and jim carrey IOW.. YOU SUCK, MOOK
I have not screened Raising Arizona. However, to say Nick was a plus for the Rock is an overstatement: He didn't ruin the movie, despite his best efforts. Sean Connery wouldn't let him, and James Bond dragged Nicks carcass across that set and on shear will made The Rock one of the most awesome movies of all time. Thank you Sean.
Val Kilmer had Real Genius, but he was baaaaad in Batman. Wasn't his fault. He was just not the man for the part. IMHO he wasn't all that bad in Top Gun either.
Yeah I don't get the D'onfrio hate, that dude is an excellent actor, and his roles are memorable even if he never is the star.
He was supposed to creep you out in Full Metal Jacket. He was supposed to turn from a harmless good natured fat kid into a ing psycho and it was a masterful performance.
The most amazing thing about it?
"You spreading rumors about me, kid?"
Those two movies, Adventures in Babysitting and Full Metal Jacket? They came out the same year.
In Adventures in Babysitting, he actually is ing Thor. He is ripped to shreds and he's ing Thor the God of Thunder.
In Full Metal Jacket he is an out of shape up goofball...
He pulled both those roles off in the same year...and has a completely different physique and personality in both of them.
Once again for emphasis
Thor:
Private Pyle:
Psycho:
All in the same year.
Edit: I just read on youtube, the two movies were released a week apart.
This dude is the . He is the nucelar powered actor.

Wasn't he the villain in 'The Cell'. He sucked there...

dude come ing on
batman forever in retrospect was an abomination...I mean it wasn't the dying fetus that was Batman and Robin but it was pretty damn bad. Val Kilmer was a ty batman, that flavor of the year they got to play robin was jackass, and tommy lee jones probably still has nightmares about stooping that low
jim carrey was the only thing about that movie that kept it good though.

good ing call dude....i never EVER would have put it together that those movies were released in the same year.
I never had a problem with that guy. I love both movies.
it was funny in irene and me when he she goes to his hotel room and hes got all those tissues, that bottle of lotion and her mugshot photo. thats good clean american humor

must just be an unnatural or unjustified hate of nicolas cage because they were both great in it.

batman is a pretty boring character anyways. It doesn't matter who you put in it. even the new ones are sorta lame with bale. Is he the wrong guy for the part also? only michael keaton can play batman?

i'm not defending jim carreys current work, only up to liar liar
I am a fan of Michael Keaton as Batman. He brought a dry humor into the character while maintaining a cool demeanor. I like Bale's Batman as well, but he is a Batman for a different era. If there is 1 interesting DC hero, it is Batman. Val was given crap to work with (Sh acker blows) but he hardly fit the part, even what was given to him. I could not believe he was the detective playboy, or a Dark Knight. He was just 'Iceman' from Top Gun.
Honestly, I give credit for Nick not ruining The Rock, but Sean just dominated that film. It was Connery at his best, and Cage just fed off of that. And I am glad, I loved The Rock.
