    Charlie Ward
    Ron Mercer (waived)

    SA Spurs 2009-10 new players:

    Antonio McDyess
    DeJuan Blair
    Richard Jefferson
    Keith Bogans
    Theo Ratliff
    Marcus Haislip

6 new players, 0 waived so far....

    After the first 12 games:
    • 03-04: 12-10 (finished the season 57-25)
    • 09-10: 12-10 (????)
Key players on both teams: Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili
    Coach: Gregg Popovich

    Team Statistics:

    03-04
    • PPG: 91.5
    • OPPG: 84.5 (!)
    • FG%: 44.2%
    • OFG%: 40.9%
    • 3P%: 35.8%
    • O3P%: 32.7%
    09-10 (so far...)
    • PPG:101.9
    • OPPG: 97.5
    • FG%: 48.0%
    • OFG%: 45.5%
    • 3P%: 39.3%
    • O3P%: 35.4%
Injuries: Tony Parker missed 7 games in 03-04 and missed 4 games this year during both of the 1st 22 games. Manu Ginobili missed 5 games, while Duncan missed 2 games so far this season.

Reason behind this: I just wanted to pointed out how a new roster and injuries has affected the Spurs in the past during the start of the season. Of course these 2 teams have different mentalities. The 2003-04 Spurs ended up being possibly one of the greatest, if not the greatest defensive teams ever in the NBA, while this years team is arguably the better offensive team for the Spurs organization in the past decade. I'm not trying to make any pre-judgements; like stated before, I just wanted to show you how the Spurs organization have had to dealt w/ a new roster of players from different systems, yet in the past ended up w/ a winning record.

There's been a lot of tread on those basketball legs of those guys since 03-04. Just don't think you can compare the two seasons. I'd feel a lot better about making a run late if Manu and Timmy were still in their 20s...

That's true. At least they have more players on offense to go to, but I'm curious how good they'll end up being on D. W/ Bowen being out of the lineup and Duncan much older, it does draw concerns.

I remember I posted something similar but referring to the 2002-2003 season. This Spurs team has little potential on internal development while the younger team in 2002-2003 had more potential to improve through the season.

Anybody know whatever happened to Raja Bell and his surgery? Did they need to put pins in his wrist or will he be back this season. If so, we need him for D.

He will be back in March, or that is what I heard from GSW fans. They got ripped off there.

i would trade either ginobili or jefferson just to get duncan back to 03-04 form. a prime tim duncan fresh off back to back mvps with the current supporting cast would dominate.
