Since Tim came back from his injury, he has hit 69 of 84 free throws over the past 16 games. That's 82.1%! (which would be a career high)

This is a big plus for Tim and the Spurs.

Tim is also second in the NBA in PER at 28.5 (career high). He has a nice 1.5 lead over third place (Bosh).

Tim is 1st in NBA efficiency per 48 minutes, and has opened up a nice lead over Lebron James & the others.

Tim is still either the best or 2nd best NBA player, with only Lebron in contention. Frankly, Tim is a more valuable defender than Lebron because he is a big man.

When the playoffs start, Tim will be able to elevate his game more than Lebron can. Tim can elevate his game by simply playing more minutes. Tim can add 5 to 10 minutes, depending how deep in the playoffs the Spurs are. Lebron has already maxed out his minutes.

I really, honestly believe Tim is the best bigman in the League still. It's not hands down anymore, but his leadership, experience and locker room presence alone (not counting any stats) count for quite a bit. When one factors in his still-impressive statistical performance - look out. The Spurs are still contenders as long as they have a healthy Tim. That's why this streaky we're going through right now sucks. It's not Tim's fault, it's everyone around him getting healthy and getting comfortable.

Yeah doesn't mean anything if the other 3 can't start playing at a high level. I must admit that this is pretty awesome though.

I would think the LOA would bring him back to about 65% by season's end.

It is especially nice to see him play at this high a level after all the pundits labeled him as "old and losing a step". He still is the most amazing player to watch on the court everyday.

This thread pointed out something i have also noticed on tim. Timmmy's FT is now much improved- even during crunch time. And his numbers are amazing inspite of the limited minutes on the court. I just hope tp, manu, rj and others wake up from their slumber to get us another ring.

To bad the Spurs aren't winning more games (not TD's fault), I can see a strong argument for MVP. But you know they won't even think about given it to him if we keep hovering around the .500 mark.

have you ever seen lebron play defense? how much NBATV do you watch to think hes any kind of defender. of course tim is the better and more valuable defender, hes one of the greatest defensive players thats ever played. his rotations are flawless, and his single coverage is unrivaled. his D has won him 4 rings. and you think some breakaway blocks makes lebron any where near tims level? to quote poe: "get thee back into the tempest of NBATV
s plutonian shore. leave no black plume as a token of the lie thy soul hath spoken, leave my sanity unbroken, quit these posts forevermore. quoth rick kamla: nevermore." got.

I think the reason duncan is playing like a beast right now because the rest of the spurs are taking naps. I remember even last year when parker and manu were out, he was playing like a madman

Hopefully, this doesn't equal into injuries during playoffs (considering we make it there)

tim is so consistent, so clutch all the time. really any problem with the team is always peripheral to tim. gonna be a while before the spurs are even in contention after he's gone.

what's most impressive about timmy is his ability to block and contest shots without fouling

it's an extremely delicate balancing act, to be aggressive but not over-aggressive. and tim pulls it off gracefully every game

now if bonner would stay on the bench or start playing defense. And if Parker would play some defense ( he was so humiliated by Nash ). If manu can call upon the gods of his old self. If RJ gets more plays run for him. If ratliff would play more ( o pop!!! We need an inside presence ). When Blair starts playing more minutes ( he was absolutely schooling Amare ). If these things happen, we'll be fine. But I feel sorry for Tim when he is the most consistent and the others take days off. With the exception of Blair.he brings every game as well.....
