My son is going to go to school at UTSA but went to highschool out of state. He spent the summers with me here. Can he get in state tuition or does he ( meaning...me ) have to pay out of state tuition and if so, would that just be for one year or till he graduates and, if he just moved down and worked for a while, how long would he have to work to claim resident status. I've heard 6 months and I've heard 1 year.

I think it's 12 months before the census date for the semester in question, unless he's a dependent of yours (don't ask me if that's a strict tax status or something else). In that case he would get in state tuition.

Hmmm...not sure but it looks like since I've been here for 6 years and have been gainfully employed at least 12 consecutive months and am a property owner he can get in state tuition.
