The marijuana on the buses was detected by drug dogs, said Agent Joe Trevino. The rapper, whose real name is DeWayne Michael Carter, Jr., was among a dozen being detained from his group.
Trevino said the buses were en route to Laredo, Texas, from a concert stop in Hidalgo state.
Calls to Carter's representatives were not immediately returned Friday.
The Louisiana native was the 2008 best-selling artist, with 2.8 million records sold, and is signed to Cash Money Records.
The rapper is scheduled to begin a prison sentence in February stemming from gun charges in New York.

He needs to look into getting his voice fixed. He's only about 27 and he sounds like he's been smoking 3 packs a day for 50 years.
let's say Wayne had three buses, if they only found pot on two buses then Wayne didn't have pot on at least one bus...he deserves credit for being 33 1/3% clean!

Almost every artist/band smokes weed. Its just the "gangsta thugs" that are searched. Especially in the south.
well I can't fix it now. At least I didn't get caught with pot at a border crossing.

We all know the lil- will get off scott free. Law only truly applies to the less fortunate.
yeah because they can tell what skin color an artist is by the type of bus they are in.
You do know that most of the concert tour buses these days are pimped out with pictures of the artist on them right?
For example:
Think they know two black guys are on that tour bus, even if they don't know who Common and Tip are?
Even if Lil' Wayne's bus didn't have his picture, I'd be willing to bet it's "blinged" out to the point that most people could make an educated guess on whether it's a bus of a "gangsta thug."
