I missed the part where he was crying.
I couldn't help but be reminded of the day when the Spurstalk MFFLs went crazy over D-Wade being wheeled off the court after dislocating his shoulder. I thought they would react similarly in this situation with Dirk rolling around the ground crying while the dude whose teeth he just knocked out calming walked over to the bench to get a towel to spit his blood into.

Why did Dirk shoot the FTs after the injury last night?
He though he may have been able to come back in the game later, if he didn't shoot them he would have been disqualified.
My guess is that is was an effort to save face after this happened:

sons Dirk will be fine ... last season he was fingering his ass in the shower while looking at a photo of David West to bring back memories of the 08 playoffs and he accidentally slipped and fell. he broke his middle finger, but toughed it out during the season and was just fine.
If the Cowboys beat the Saints don't show your fat white ass around here again.
