Chris Rock should be #1 and Mitch should be a distant 2nd.

They must be talking about just this decade's work because Chris Rock is the best standup comedian ever.

Chris Rock isn't even in the top 5 all-time stand up group yet.

Anyone who puts Sarah Silverman on a "Best of" comedians list, let alone above Mitch Hedberg, is seriously an idiot and has a very loose grasp on what's objectively funny. I don't know that I've ever laughed at a single joke she's made, and I know several people who feel the same way.

Personally, I'd take Chris Rock off the list and put Eddie Izzard in his place. Hedberg should be higher on the list. Best standup I ever saw live was Bobby Lee, the guy from Mad TV - abso-freakin-lutely hilarious. I literally fell out of my chair laughing.

Comedians are like musicians - their style may appeal to some ears but not others. From this decade I enjoyed Chappelle, Cross, Gaffigan, Pablo Francisco, George Lopez, and the guy who does the puppets (can't recall his name).

Since they seem to be going on people who have done film, tv and has commercial success I'm surprised they left off Lopez.

this is a classic case of what I argued a couple weeks ago about how the Beatles will always be the best rock band ever even if someone better comes along.

This is no different. Chris Rock deserves to be up there with the bests of all time in Standup, but because he is new and alive, he won't. Anyway, Comedy Central ranks him 5th of all time and I agree.

If you were translate success that came after their stand up routines, Dane Cook and George Lopez would have to be on that list......no matter how much they may actually suck.

I'd keep Rock on the list, but move him down. I'd take Silverman off completely and replace her with either Jim Gaffigan of Brian Posehn. Otherwise, I think the it's pretty solid.
