Guys, the Heat can sign both players to a max contract (James will always have to take a pay-cuy if he leaves Cleveland, as Wade will if he leaves Miami), but it doesn't work that way. Until you sign your own free-agents, you are stuck with their cap-holds, that in Wade's case is enormous. If they renounce Wade in order to get rid of the hold, they'd lose his rights. So, they'll have to re-sign Wade first and then sign LeBron James with the remaining cap-space. They can't simply "ignore the cap", that would be too easy.

The Nets have cap-space to sign them both as well and many other teams, like, say, the Rockets, can still create enough cap-room to sign them both to max-contracts if they want to.

If the cap goes down further, I don't think any team can give two max contracts. The tams you mentioned can 1 Max and 1 really close to max. Lebron and Wade can fight over who gets what. Everything depends on the salary cap though.

now a Chalmers/Wade/Bron/Beasley/Bosh team would contend with the Lakers. it would be close. a definate 7 game series....and i think over a 4 year period i think LA takes 3 and Miami takes 1. That Miami team would have ZERO bench though but with 3 stars 2 of them could ALWAYS be on the floor at the same time.

And New Jersey can do it too, they just need to renounce to the rights for some of their crap (they'll only keep Harris, Lopez, Yi, Williams, Roberts and Lee - roughly $20 millions - if the cap is around $55M, that would mean they can offer 2 max contracts).

New York can get rid of one of those guys, but I don't think it's worth the risk unless they get strong signals that two of the top-tier max contract FA are willing to sign with them. If Wade+LeBron want to play in NY together, then Walsh will find the cap room, have no doubts about that.

Makes sense to me. If I was an NBA superstar, I would team up with someone too. You already have millions upon millions of dollars......... team up and win 6 championships or maybe more and be engraved in history forever.

Because Michael wasn't a role player, dumb dumb. You guys are so far beneath my understanding of the game that its comical. I took so much heat for calling The Whistler an overrated role player, and now you see, or do you still need proof? The guy got lucky with the help of the refs. , he's not even the leading man in his commercials, Chuck is. He wants to be cute, but is quite clownish. if the lakers look unstoppable and cruise to the finals, these two will seriously consider being on the same team. they're not stupid. lakers are built to last another 2 or 3 years of dominance and no way will they wait that long to win a le. it would be pretty incredible to watch two of the top 3 players in the league on the same team. both are great passers, unselfish, and can play off the ball.

off LeBron's ego is to big to go to Wade's team. Why can't Wade shut the up. It's obvious this would only happen because the Lakers received an All-Star for free so it changed the balance of the league.
