I would have taken the Davis/Kaman for Kidd trade.
I would have done J-Ho for G-Force
I would have done the Marion trade (one thing Donnie did right)
I would have traded JET for Maggette

They need a 2-guard who can create offense just as much, if not more - unless your happy with JJ Barea creating for you with less than 2 minutes on the clock. Howard is pretty much a mid range jump shooter who relies on others for his scoring. A guy like Salmons can get his own, and is a good passer and can set up others.
You cant put the ball in the hands of Howard or Marion and expect them to create something. They are good at what they do, but the team is lacking creativity from the wing position. Shooting can be filled alot easier.
Jefferson better at that than Howard? But yeah a quick 2 guard would be ideal for us. Kidd really isn't that active out there on offense. We need more activity out there and let Kidd dictate the offense off the dribble. Barea taking over the ball and Kidd standing there equals bad offense.
Jefferson has more to his game than Howard, even if he is struggling to show alot of it in the Spurs offense. Better off the dribble and in the post. It gives your offense another weapon, having a big wing who can score on smaller defenders in the post, and take bigger defenders of the dribble.

you think McCants is the cure to fix up all the problems? Beaubois would be my pick over McCants anyways. McCants is more of a liability than JJB defensively and this deficiency is too big to make up with his temporary inspirations at the arc. McCants would be dirt cheap though, which IMHO was the only reason he could be signed but still it didn't happen. I just don't get any reason why Rodrigue is shackled on bench night after night without given enough chances, except the old reason that Donnie is just an idiot, which I've mentioned tons of times.
Absolutely. I was 100% for the Kidd-Harris swap at the time.
Trading Kidd for Davis/Kaman isn't so much because Kidd is a problem, it's more because that's way too much talent you're getting back in return.
Kaman was injury prone last season and B-Diddy was considered a tumor that caused his team to suck that bad, hence it wasn't considered a good deal for Mavs if not a bad one either, not to mention Diddy/Kaman's contracts still had years left while Kidd's was expiring.
I guess Donnie did get offered such a deal and spent tons of time pondering it, but finally decided to stick to his old guys in blue.
