I have been a big Finley fan since he singlehandedly beat the Jazz in the 2000 playoffs, but I'm definitely not a fan of him getting anything but spot minutes on this team. It's kind of weird being a big fan of a guy and then hating him being on the floor at the same time.

Kinda ironic how just not very long ago, most people including myself were wanting to kick Finley and Bonner to the curb (ok mostly Bonner). Now they are both injured. Let's see how this works out.

I didn't read the thread, but I'm wondering if Pop is playing out the rest of the month with Finley out of the rotation to see how well the team does. Most likely any trade deadline trade will have Finley's contract invloved.

Just a theory though. I'm hoping Memphis decides to help the Spurs out by giving us Gay for nothing the way LA got Gasol for nothing.

Doing a little research, Gay is making 3.28 million this year. Less than I thought. A serious trade offer I would give is Finley, Ian, draft rights to Splitter and Gist. That's actually not as lop-sided as the Gasol trade, but still clearly in the Spurs favor.

All rspect to Finley, love the guy, but I'll be glad if he just fades out quietly from here. He really only should be used when all the other wings are ice-cold and hurting us, or we need an extra shooter to space the floor. That's it.
