that.
Brandon Jennings.
You guys think if Blake Griffin comes back, he has a chance to challenge Evans for the ROY??
that.
Brandon Jennings.
Brandon would have to totally hit a wall for him to NOT get the award at this point. If he can get his team int the playoffs, it is pretty much a done deal.
Blake would have to have a near 30ppg average, and/or drag his team into the playoffs as well...
I think Brandon Jennings in the middle of hitting the wall right now. Though he's still dishing the ball, I think he's shooting around 30% in his last five games. And he only had one game in the whole month of December that he shot above 40%. He isn't playing good basketball at the moment.
That said, I think he'll win ROY.
I agree, Jennings is the main one.
Griffin certainly not...
At this point, Tyreke Evans. He is scoring his 20 points at 46% shooting and leading his team to overtime games against contenders. nba.com has him at 9 in the MVP race ahead of Duncan and Durant.
I think Evans has established himself as the clear front runner with his recent play, coupled with Jennings nose dive since November.
I dont think Griffin can challenge Evans, unless he puts up something crazy like 22-12-2 and leads the Clippers to the playoffs. Plus he will only have around 45 games or so..
I ing don't know but my fantasy team needs Blake "I'm an Oden v2.0" Griffin comes back soon and start playing for christ sake !
I think it's at the point in the season where Blake Griffin being out this long plays a factor. He's already missed about 30 games. Can't see a player winning any regular season award playing around half a season.
I think Jennings and Evans are about neck and neck right now. I might give Jennings the edge right now but think Evans will probably be the guy when the season is done.
i cant believe the lack of love for evans ...
Idk how the anyone has Jennings on Evans' level right now.
Couple factors. Overall body of work for the season still has Jennings averaging more points and assists. He is still shooting over 40% from three point range despite struggling overall with shooting the ball. And the Bucks being in the east gives them a pretty good chance at making the playoffs. That usually doesn't play a big factor in the ROY voting but Jennings already establishing himself as "the guy" on the Bucks and them being a playoff team may persuade some voters to lean towards him. I think Tyreke is playing better right now and I do think Tyreke will end up being the favorite by the end of the year, but I understand why Jennings is still very much in the running and still has a very good shot. His start of the season was that good.
When was 19.3 more than 20.3?
Meanwhile Evans seems gets better every game while Jennings looks more and more average.
Since I made a mistake. I looked at the wrong page, google took me to Tyreke's Memphis Tigers page and I didn't notice. Sorry.
I agree about Tyreke at PG, I think the best way to maximize his talents and play him at SG.
well its his first year. Hes going to improve leaps and bounds. Of course he choked a bit while kobe guarded him late in the game, but it was only because he seems to only finish strong with his right hand, and everyone backed off him because his jumper sucked.
But give him time (only a rookie) and im sure he'l work out of it. His fundamentals are sound. Even in the same game, he later broke out of the slump with a strong drive and basket which was a good sign.
oh and he turned a kings franchise around so they are respectable ... that is no easy task. Of course omri and spencer had a part to play but the main catalyst has been evans ...
IF pop starts blair now to rest of the season, and he picks up his game to a +10/10 Pts/rebs....anything can happen
his numbers are quite good if you compared with passed rookies....didnt amare and yao had like 13 9 or some for their rookie seasons
I won't post till the start of 2011 if Dejuan Blair wins ROY.
I wonder how much the Kings' relative success this year has to do with Martin being out...
Evans' stats probably will go down once Martin returns. But right now, I'd also put him ahead of Jennings.
