I think this spurs team can win a ring this year
Here's one.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=yjlseh6
+s- NO=Spurs get strong in the middle. Orleans get's their second option on O. Wright is a high character guy with potential and is needed for the deal to work.
-s NO= SA Take on a big contract for five years, although Okafor may be good all five years.
+'s GS= Golden State gets rid of Maggette's contract although they have to give up Randolph. Maggette takes RJ's place and gives the Spurs a legitimate scorer. Randolph is young with potential and could potentially fill the Bonner role.
-'s GS= Maggette may not fit any better than RJ and has four years on his contract which is quite a burden for a 30 year old. Although 8.9x4=35.6, 14.2x2= 28.4 so the years hurt more than the money.
+'s NJ= NJ gets a top five point guard with star power. SA gets a point guard who approximates TP but doesn't wear himself down year after year with his national team. SA gets Courtney Lee who is a young potential starter quality guy who can shoot from deep a la his role with Howard in Orlando.
-'s NJ= Trading TP, even though he seems to be getting run down, he is a fan fav and still a top PG.
Of course what to do with Hariston, Haislip, Mahinmi and/or Bogans? Can they be cut? Traded for late round draft picks?
Overview= The Spurs get younger a lot younger. Okafor in the middle is exactly what the Spurs need. The new players are "Spurs" players, especially Wright, Lee and Okafor. Team guys with good character. Maggette unlike Jefferson has been a third or fourth option and even come off the bench so he should adjust easier. His ability to bull rush to the rim and get to the free throw line could potentially add a dimension missing with RJ.
trade machines aren't working
The only bit of logic I'd agree with is getting a big like Okafor to sit beside Duncan. Without giving up large pieces, I'm not sure how to work that.
If we could just trade Manu for something useful, we'd win the le for sure![]()
So, Uh,...Whats the trade?
fixed/updated
The Nets are not giving up Brook Lopez for Tony Parker. /thread
Haha, New Jersey would never do that, but I would obviously take it in a heartbeat.
Pipe dream, but yeah I'd pull the trigger.
Harris for Parker the Nets would probably have to think about, adding Lopez and Lee, their only pieces for the future is just out of the question, I don't really say this much but only a dumass would come up with some like that.
i would do parker for lopez + filler straight up. brook lopez is going to be the next best big. a tim duncan lite and the spurs would be set for another 10 years.
Nets would lose 10 wins on the season. They may not even reach 10 wins. New Jersey would be fools to pull the trigger on this trade.
no, and drop the trade parker threads. He isn't going anywhere.
if the Nets want Parker just wait next year and Draft John Wall
Please see to it that this is the case.
Just because a trade works in the machine doesn't necessarily make it logical for both sides.... well unless it's involves the Grizzlies giving away a franchise guy for Kwame Brown or something... oh nevermind
took someone long enough
I was waiting for that
John Wall, Is Gonna Be better Then Tony Parker....... I love Tony, But John Wall Will Change a Franchise Around Kinda How Lebron Did.... Count on it...
I'd kill for even Courtney Lee...have you seen that dude's shooting stroke? It's perfect. PLUS Devin Harris PLUS one of the best young centers in the league today?
Ummmmmmmmmmm....
YAH
Exactly. Quality big men are a much higher priority than any other position in basketball(even if the guard being traded was a three time all-star).
Lets be fair. If Brook was on a better team, he would be an all-star too.
