Actually someones just post here with the only purpose of having fun, or they know too little about basketball to talk anything valuable. Although it seems pretty crucial to plant one's joy on others grief, that's probably the only point some of us post here for.
I mean we'd all work professionally as NBA analysts like Marc Stein, John Hollinger if we each had got insightful knowledge about this game. Obsequy is OK as long as it doesn't exceed the boundary of basic ethics.

The problem is that whenever I give one my always solid basketball takes to create discussion, it gets ignored completely.
When I post "lol lakerfan gots" I get 15 replies.
I think that's just the culture that has been bred in here. Some of it's funny, and people feed into it. Other times, it just borders on nonsensical.
Even I come in here for the occasional chuckle, but it's definitely a stark contrast from even the Spurs forum.
nah the spurs board is worse, filled with bipolar spurs fans that want to schedule a parade after a win or jump off cliff after losses...either that or they want to trade bonner, finley, and mason for the other teams best players. they actually and truely believe that while the trash talking here is mostly all jokes, most of the people that talk are somewhat knowledgeable about the game. alot of spurs fans up in the spurs board are ing re ed.
Couldn't have been said better... though the best posters of this board DO post their opinion in the Spurs forum...

This forum (NBA) has declined a lot due to Laker bandwagoners and the Anti-Kobe, Pro-Kobe debates on here. also the bashing of team X has gotten ridiculous ..No one has to like the same team and intelligent debate is healthy ...but things have gone down hill lately.A few months back I remember an intelligent debate I had with Dunc&Dave (i believe) but for the most part there has been very little discussion ...I go to Lakersground to feed the "homer" side of me at times but came here (back when the Lakers were losing in the 1st round) because I though the Pistons/Spur discussions (and the NBA talk here) was good ...Lately not so much. Dont get me wrong Lakers, Spurs suns, celts etc ALL have great posters but the trolls, hate spewin' and posturing is pathetic ...

No fingers need be pointed, but there are posters with literally thousands upon thousands of "lol xx" posts and incoherent rambling insults -- within this single forum alone. At one point such posters got the current Culoburn treatment, but today's instead: like-minded (or low-minded) posters joined in and thus became the esoterical circle jerk that is the NBA forum. It's actually even more sad when they take their lacking jokes into other forums as a sign of pride.

That's a huge, huge problem. When there are threads and posts that could reasonably bring out very good discussion, they get very few if any responses. And so often those threads either die a quick death or go the quick route of "lol Lakerfans" or "4 rings gots."
I think it's fine if people get a kick out of some of the stupid . But, I think it's a problem when the board is like 80% all that stupid . Need to have a better balance.
There has to be a saturation point with the stupid schticks at some point. is funny, but only to a point. And it gets worse when everyone is does them. People should stop making so many troll accounts. People should stop making so many "LOL Team X" threads. We have reached the saturation point with a lot of it.
Maybe someone needs to make "Troll Moderator" and "LOL Regulator" troll accounts.
Let's face it, everything was hunky/dory 'till Kobe rang/sans Daddy. That event was like throwing a Baby Ruth into the pool. Anti Lakerdom had no fulcrum, no foundation to believe in, to operate out of. It was gone in a blink of an eye, POOF. Compounding that event is the imminent demise of the Spurs. Seeing as how this is Spurs Ground its a dangerous mix. When Lakerdom was getting cleaned out by the Suns and Eagle, CO. we was welcome. Now that the worm has turned, we've rang, Spurs in perpetual decline we ain't welcome no more.
It's a quandary all right.
It's not just that Culburn before all the "trash" I've seen Allanon, Jamstone and others get in to healthy basketball debates with Spur fans and Laker bashers ...lately Allanon seems more defensive in his Posts (IMHO) because there is such vitirol in these thereads some of it by fellow laker fans ...butI don't think kobe's ring was the lightning roid ...this started with the Gasol trade and Stern wanted us to win crap ...
You got somethin' to say, Killa, get your in' chin off yer chest and say it. Quit chasin' yer elbow round yer asshole.
This happens every year.....last year it was all of the KFC bull and this year it's the lol, and tee hee stuff. Still, the Laker love on this board has never been this high.
Give me a break. KFC was way more high concept than the LOL threads.
