Irsay finally spoke yesterday, and said he agreed as well...but I bet he doesn't. I mean, when will they get this chance again?
Like I said before, IF they get to the SB and win, that'll be nice. But there will ALWAYS be that "what if" factor in the back of their minds.
Oh, and since that crappy call, I've had a bad feeling about the playoffs. The momentum will be gone, as will the Colts. Just saying.
Benching healthy starters in a home game is a pretty big sin against the Colts fan base if you ask me. I was cool with it when I heard that Addai was hurt in the game, but he practiced this week, so obviously his "injury" was nothing an ice bath and a day off didn't take care of. Colts fans deserved better. They should have tried to get a big lead and then done that.
On the other hand I feel pretty good about the playoffs. Losing the way they did hasn't been a slight against the Colts team but rather the staff, specifically Polian. For the first time ever, we're going into the playoffs and I don't worry about the defense's ability to keep us in the game. Actually, I feel pretty good going into the playoff with all of our key defensive players being healthy and rested. A Colts D with Mathis, Freeney, Powers, Hayden, Bullitt and Bethea all at full strength? Should be able to hold down the fort, I'd think.
Peyton's been in "eff you" mode all year. I really think he's still mad about not having a possession in OT against the Chargers. I think he'll have a pretty good postseason, which should mean a good postseason for the Colts offense as a whole.
MAYBE we will see you guys in the divisional round (if Pats get 4th seed and can get past SD) or afc le game(If pats get 3rd seed).
That being said, Colts need to play their healthy players some on Sunday to keep that momentum into their bye week.
Vinatieri is out against the Bills.
It might be time to call it a career.

The Colts leave Manning, Wayne and Clark in there just long enough to reach individual milestones, but punt on a chance at a perfect season. Pathetic.

Great win for the Colts tonight. Couple things to point out:
Colts held the Ravens under 100 yards rushing. Det boy Ray Rice came to play though. Colts D had a great nose for the ball tonight and seemed to not make a single mistake after Freeney went offsides on their first drive.
Best play of the game was what ended up being a two yard pass to Addai. Ball was tipped and Suggs had a great angle on it but Addai went Randy Moss and jumped up to get it. Clutch play by Addai.
Pierre Garcon dropped some major loads in this game. That fumble he hit on Reed was beastly, but his closing speed catching up to him was beastlier. Marvin Harrison was a great Colt but had that been him he would have started ing at the ref for a flag. Garcon didn't quit.
Kinda pissed that the Colts just sat on the 17 point lead but it was probably the right thing to do. Flacco wasn't beating them and they knew it.
Bonus points to Raheem Brock and Clint Session for tag teaming Ray Rice and Bethea and Powers for signing the check with an interception each.
yeah you could see ed reed was gonna get punked from 10-15 yards away. really nice play and good win for the colts.

The Ravens and Jets are pretty much the same team, except the Jets play the pass a little better because of Revis. Obviously they're both run-first offenses with explosive backs to do the job. Basically, they do a lot of the same things on offense and their defenses have similar strengths. I think the Colts can put the brakes on Shonn Greene. They have some familiarity with Jones because of Super Bowl XLI but that was one game and he played on a different team so it's not necessarily the same. Plus Flacco is easily an upgrade over Sanchez so I think it'll come down to about the same game plan. I'd just like it that if Indy is able to get out to a two score lead like they did against the Ravens that they don't go into the Dungyball s and just try to run the clock out. Typical Colts formula is that if they know your offense isn't finishing drives, Peyton tries to go for one of those eight and a half minute field goal drives to deliver the double punch special.
Before the playoffs even started my father and I talked about this game as a potential no-win scenario for the Colts because if they lose, people will say they could have blocked the Jets from the playoffs and avoided this. Although by beating the Jets in Week 16, they likely allow Houston or Pittsburgh into the tournament and I'd rather face the Jets than either of those two in a playoff match. And if the Colts win, everyone will say they should've just beaten the Jets in Week 16 and gone for undefeated. Either way bailing on an undefeated season is going to be a sour topic in Indy regardless of this season ending in a Super Bowl victory, so I figure I'll just leave that topic where it belongs, in the past.
Going into the playoffs I thought the Jets were the worst team and I was wrong. They're the second worst team; the Bengals were the worst. But the Colts can't sleep on this team. If they're sharp on offense I really see no way they lose this game. Revis should limit Wayne from putting up a monster game, but I don't think he shuts him down. In Week 16 the first three looks at Wayne were incompletes, the next four Wayne was 3-4 for 33 yards. I think he was starting to figure out before he was benched.
Indy fans are going to bring it hardcore. Sanchez is going to get eaten alive by that dome. I expect to see a lot of punts by the Jets, but their commitment to the run will likely result in one big play, probably a long TD run in the red zone.
35-10 Colts. Close game early, turnovers and Peyton Manning kill the Jets in the second half. Bonus points if Wayne grabs two TDs covered by Revis.

Should really be 6-1, second loss was the first Jaguars game in '08 that was blown by the defense and Manning put up his second-worst game against a Williams defense since the first game he ever played against one. Probably should mention that that game was just his 3rd one back from two offseason knee surgeries.

What a ing idiot. When the Saints are walking off the field in defeat this Sunday I hope Eli runs up to him and tells him "I just kicked your ass on that field boy", laughs wildly in his face and then proceed to say, "You just got Manninged!"
