Bust? NOT HERE, he was not expected by me to do shyt sides sit the bench.
Appreciate the compliment.
On the contrary, Haislip's second year is a team option, which gives the Spurs flexibility to either retain him as an inexpensive sixth big (I'm guessing Splitter replaces Ratliff, Bonner is re-signed, Mahinmi is not re-signed and Duncan, McDyess and Blair are retained), or include him as a throw-in in a trade.
Bust? NOT HERE, he was not expected by me to do shyt sides sit the bench.
I should have said it differently. 2-year contract with the first year fully guaranteed was surprising.
i dont think you are qualified to give that extra bonus
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/MYRIAD
Yes, I know that this has been noted in recent dictionaries as a noun or adjective, however, the etymology of the word "thousand" or "ten thousand" and the synonyms listed for myriad such as "countless, boundless, infinite, untold", are words that make sense being used as adjectives. If myriad is used in the same way the Roman army units "Legion" or "Century" were used, then maybe it makes some sense i.e. "myriads of soldiers". Otherwise, "a myriad (countless, boundless, infinite, untold) number of options" or "myriad options" makes more sense than "a myriad (countless, boundless, infinite, untold) of options".
You're correct though. I'm unqualified to give a bonus.

both teams played hard ... whichever works for you...
gotto bump
against the heat he played ok tonight in scrub minutes....
give him the stephen jax 2year treatment and it could give us a steal
Well he can block shots and shoot the ball, Wouldn't mind seeing a bit mroe of him.
I think he made two three pointers tonight and had maybe two blocks and looked pretty good. I don't think we will see much of him though this year but I would like to see him in more garbage time to help him for next year. I can see him being a pretty good bench player for us next year.
He played well tonight, he blocked a shot, ran the floor well and although he doesn't look like a future all star he could well become a decent role player, and it's not like he is dragging the team down salary wise.
Agree!!
He's not a bust. Their was nothing expected of him. He was nothing more than a filler.
the problem is in scrub minutes, everyone is trying to get theirs to prove to pop they deserve pt....just looking at the last quarter you can clearly see haislip was trying to push himself on a few plays, damn i wish he would just attempt to dunk it on the offensive foul he receive....Hill3 was getting alot of plays for himself....
haislip is a jumping jack out of a box, just needs to time himself on a few defensive sets...dude is physically huge though....
Depends on how you define "bust." He's an amazing bargain for the level of raw athleticism he possesses. I'd pay what the Spurs paid for him 99% of the time.
I think Haislip Can Be A Good Role Player on this Team.... If The SPurs Do end up trading alot of there Perimeter Players away for A Big, Haislip Might get A Opportunity to play A lil bit. He can Play The 3 or 4, Athletic Big That Can Shoot the Ball, Alter and block Shots on the Defensive End.
Would like to see him get enough minutes so Pop could coach him up on defense. He looks like he could really be a fit if he moved his feet on defense a little more agressively.
My problem with Haislip is he seems to stay outside on the perimeter for the most part. I'm sure this is his role so he spreads the floor for Timmy. Isn't Bonner enough for this role?
I always thought Haislip was built for cleaning up around the rim, with putbacks, rebounds and boxouts because of his strength. I never pictured him as a jumpshooter.
Who knows? Maybe if he can work with Chip, we'll have a poor man's version of Dirk on the Spurs? A stronger and scrappier version.
Not a bust. Be it politics or what he just can't find a way to get on Pops rotation (maybe he needs to speak with Finley on how this might be possible). IF he could I bet he would be able to contribute some things.
If it was up to me and I know it's not.is the Man of course, but I would leave Bonner out and keep Haislip on. Maybe trade Bonner if his value is high. This is no Knock on Bonner, but I don't think his skill set is needed for this team anymore.

By any standard Haipslip has not shown enough in practice to move up the feeding chain. Ditto Ian. The Spurs are still missing a piece. I'm not sure where. We have enough offense to beat inferior teams into the ground. We need more of a defensive presence in the lane IMO. If RAtliff were 10 years younger he's be the answer. I also think that Jefferson would be better coming off the bench with Manu and George.
??? That's the way that Milwaukee tried (and failed) to use him, but he's really much more of a face up slashing forward, currently with range out to 3 point land. He's not a post player. He probably could do some of those things, but not from where the Spurs want him stationed on the floor.
Maybe RJ, TP, and TD should all come off the bench with Manu.
i've been calling for him to get some time all season long - even when Bonner wasn't injured. and i still believe he should.
the thing w/ Bonner is everything will be okay with him in the line up pretty much except when we play LA or Boston. both teams have size in the paint and they'll dominate Bonner because of his lack of physical gifts; however, Haislip has all the physical tools to play good defense. the question is does he have the mental tools? remember it took Bonner more than a season to learn how to play defense in this system. i say give Haislip Ratliffs minutes to see what he can do. he has had two nice showings in the last two games, and there's no reason Pop should be playing Ratliff more, esp when it's garbage time.
I'd like him to get some decent PT, if he ends up being a decent player then he could be everything Bonner is and more.
Give him minutes against real scrub teams to see what he can do.
Agreed. It's unfair to call the guy a bust, when he's not garnered any consistent PT.
Besides that, Pop seems to detest any player who possesses any semblence of natural athleticism. That said, I don't necessarily buy into anyone's "knee-jerk" assessment on this kid this soon.
I know this kid is new in the system and has a lot to learn. I'd prefer to reserve judgement until he gets some significant burn. Perhaps that doesn't occur until next season. Remember, the Spurs did the same thing with SJax. He basically sat our an entire year, learning the system and indoctrinating himself into the Spurs culture. Then, he burst on the scene the next year. I'd love to see Haislip do the same thing.
He can't be that much worse than Bonner at spreading the floor can he? I say we give him a shot.
