If I were the Steve Javie troll, I'd call a tech on you for not checking the time of the respective OP's. Your post belongs in the other thread.

I'm surprised you have time to post this, what with needing to stand guard over your dog to make sure nobody shoots it.

i know you guys think it's not fake

i know the creator made a 2nd video to show pieces of how he made it to prove it's real

I still don't believe him. The "Proof" was nothing more than wirework images. I could do that myself in a few minutes.

I could grab a real video, then copy it EXACTLY using only skeletal wirework.

then make a video showing the real footage, switch to the wirework, and back to the footage

and use this as 'proof' that it's all real CGI.

Garbage. I think the video is obvious use of video footage mixed in with CGI and overlapped with CGI.

Just pointing out the obvious... But hey, if you have enough of a problem with something I wrote that you're going to be one of those losers that follows me around in different threads, about different subjects, to bring it up entirely out of context? You can just save yourself the obsessive trouble and put me on ignore. In fact, I'd prefer it.

    You're wrong.

This kind of thing is going to become more frequent in the CG world now, since ATI has recently released it's new Tesla core GPUs. They are completely capable of rendering scenes like this.

Just because you find it hard to believe does not suddenly make invalidate the video. Unless you've got a major or a degree in computer animation or a related field, your opinion on this matter is relatively worthless.

FWIW, I showed this to a friend of mine who IS in the field, and they could tell several times that it was all CG. But they said it was extremely subtle and that the video was extremely well done.

    lol

He has a real job and was interviewed by autodesk.

Pretty much as real as it gets, unless there is some massive conspiracy to get autodesk to sell more copies of overpriced software.

I'm wondering how one guy rendered this thing without melting his computer. He had to have access to a render farm as this would take months on a home PC, even considering top of the line bleeding-edge.

I wonder if this will ever progress to real-time rendering without requiring absurd amounts of power.
