Chris Paul can opt of his contract in the summer of 2012. Therefore, the Hornets will not entertain any offers for him until the summer of 2011 at the earliest.

Their strategy will be to hold onto him and hope lightning strikes in the interim.

You can smell the desperation. The entire NO front office probably laughed out loud as Buford was proposing this realgm-esque deal.

Did the Grizzlies laughed their asses off when the Lakers proposed a Kwame for Gasol deal? Of course they didn't, Stern was more than happy to intervene to make the Lakers better

Eventhough NO rejected that deal, it's still not as lopsided as you think. At least if CP3 demanded a trade New Orleans would be getting something back for him in the amazing Tony Parker, which can't be said for Memphis and the Gasol deal.

Well said. The Gasol-Kwame deal was nothing more than attempt by Stern to make the Lakers become the best team in the league again. That deal has the word mafia written all over it.

I guess you haven't seen Marc Gasol play. And we haven't even talked about the 2010 cap space Memphis created with that trade.

Pau passively aggressively did demand a trade from Memphis and their fans wanted him gone.

son I agree. Marc is improving a lot and I mean at least we know he has good family genes. After all his brother did just win a championship for Kobe Bryant last season. Marc will continue to improve. god bless

son you don't know that. Kobe never would have even gotten out of the 1st round of the playoffs (let alone win championships) without Shaq and Gasol there to hold his hand every step of the way. take away those two gifts along with his ridiculously huge media push and Kobe is nothing more than a selfish, locker room cancer who has to jack up 20 shots a game and rely on freebies from the refs to average 25 points. lol so pathetic.
