Havanna´s alfajores are not what they used to be anymore. Sadly.
Ever since the company was sold to a big corportation, the quality has gone to the toilet.
You should try "Cachafaz" alfajores.

Rumor says that a guy who was fired from Havanna when the company was sold to The Exxel Group, stole the formula and founded El Cachafaz.
Speaking of old Mexican food items, maybe someone knows the answer to this. It was a Gamesa cookie. They were rings with a hard frosting on them. Either pink, purple, or yellow icing. I remember them from my childhood, but I've never been able to find them or remember the name of them.
WTF??????????
I was about to post the same ing question. I was googling gamesa cookies earlier trying to find them. My grandmother always used to have them for us from when she or a friend or relative would go to Mexico. I miss those cookies and haven't seen em in years. Sadly, I don't think they make them anymore.
Double WTF??!! I was going to post this very same question. We used to buy them in Mexico and throw them at the donkey before the show began.

Viva and Blizz & iHustle, try the HEB Plus on Military and Zarzamora on the southside. Maybe even a Fiesta. I used to eat Ricanelas but I don't know if they were from Gamesa.
Pancakes with peanut butter and syrup. Everyone thinks it's insane until they try it. The salty of the peanut butter with the sweet of the syrup... heaven.
I looked up ricanelas and they're cinnamon crackers.

Green apples soaked in vinegar is another combination favorite of mine.
so what's with the name change?
I'm stoked any time I can mix mac & cheese with mashed potatoes. You get cheesy mashed potatoes and a thicker creamier sauce for your macaroni...my friends have said it sounds gross but I get them to try it all the time and they like it.
Holy crap. I'm totally gonna try this. I love both those things equally.

Tim Tams with Coffee or Hot Chocolate.
Tim Tams are Australian cookies. They sell them now in the US but it's hard to find as Tim Tams. If you have a Cost Plus World Market, you can look for a brand called Arnotts.
