Of course Kobe couldn't win without Shaq until that Pau Gasol guy came around, right? Even though he had Caron Butler and Lamar Odom with him in 04-05...
The Lakers were definitely a JV team in 05-07 just like the Spurs are a JV team 08-10. Difference was the Lakers had garbage like Smush and Kwame while the Spurs are stacked and still couldn't sniff a ring.

Again, I love how 21_Cuckcolds insinuate that the Lakers beat JV teams on their way towards the last championship, and that there should be as asterisk on that. Thanks for the laughs.
Okay, so what where the 04 Lakers? If the 2005 Pistons where a JV team according to the OP then how couldn't Kobe/Shaq/Payton/Malone beat them in 2004?
Lakers fans do no watch the NBA.
Karl Malone was apparently the best player on their team that year...you couldn't have expected them to win without him, could you?![]()
Injured and broken.
Malone was hurt dumbass, payton washed up. No bench. Yet still better than the Spurs. Which is funny.
Malone was actually their second best defender, rebounder and third option that could spread the floor for Shaq. You think the Spurs beat the Pistons in 05 without their third best player? Fat chance.
Ginobili's ankle was jacked up against LA in 08, so what's your point?
Keep using this re ed exuse when he played every one of those games with heavy minutes.
Meanwhile the Lakers stomped that Spurs team without TWO of their STARTERS. Kobe took that Spur ass to Colorado.
Well, I'm sure Malone could have stood on the court for heavy minutes as well...doesn't mean he'd be effective.
And I don't think using Bynum's injury as an excuse works...it's not like it led to Pau Gasol coming to LA or anything...
Manu averaged 32 minutes in 2008 WCF, Malone averaged 30 minutes in 2004 finals.
Manu was running, jumping and played every game. Including a 30 point outburst. Malone did not play every game (Slava started game 5, another NBA wash out) and literally could not move out there.
It didn't. Gasol trade happens regardless. The Lakers never planned on keeping Kwame's expiring.
The Spurs were punked by an undermanned Lakers team. Time to get over it.
LMAO at the lakerfan obsession with Spurs. Keep it coming.
I'd believe you if it had happened before Bynum got hurt...then again, with Jerry whispering sweet nothings into Wallace's ear, you could be right.
Funny coming from a Spurs fan that took that from Milwaukee for expiring trash. Yes Bowen is a piece of trash.
At least Memphis got a 15/10 center out of the deal AND cap space.
C'mon son!! Getda outtaherewitdatbool
lol laker fan bitter he doesn't have the spurs 4 championship rings
lol couldn't beat the in pistons
you are a joke. You know damn well at the time the big trade asset was Kwame Brown. You got gasol for Kwame. get real.
A direct result of the Gasol move...not sure what you're trying to argue there. Just like the Gasol move was a direct result of Bynum getting hurt.
And lol at the Bowen/trash comment...so SA won 3 les with a piece of trash getting major minutes? Just another testament to the greatness of Tim Duncan. Thanks for the props, homie.
Oh, the irony in this statement...
I'll cosign this...no doubt the obsession runs both ways...bound to happen when teams (and/or their fans) hate each other this much.
lol pacers sixers and nets, quite the murderer's row there.
