I wasn't going to point out that the played the same team the 2002 lakers did even though according to the op they weren't a jv team, but when they played the spurs a year later they were, which makes no sense

Fail on two counts.
(1) Last I checked, the NBA champion actually had to win the Western Conference to get to the finals. So they were the best of the West, as well as beating the best of the East. Therefore, even if we grant for the sake of argument that any number of teams from the West could have beaten the East champ, it's still the case that the Spurs were better than the other West teams in those championship years.
In simple terms you can understand: Even if your premise is true, your conclusion is false.
(2) In 1999, every team in the NBA competed under exactly the same conditions (shortened season). No team gained any special advantage. Also, the playoffs were not changed at all, and we all know the playoffs are the real season. Therefore, there's no logical reason to suppose that the Spurs' 1999 championship would have not been obtained if there had not been a shortened regular season.

I guess Laker fan has the right to have fun these days. After all, from 2004 to 2008 their franchise was the joke of the NBA.
I know its too early to break it out, but it would be nice to get one of those photoshopped pics you used to see in here around march where you see the star player of whoever was ahead of us in the standings with a freaked out face in a car, and had a police motorcycle behind them with the Spur du jour pulling them over. Some of the old timers must remember this. I dont know that I have seen it in a while though.

Getting to the Finals, is hard enough!
The Pistons in 05 were hands down tougher then your Magic Team you beat last year, and tougher then any teams the Lakers won against in the finals in the 2000's!
Come on, peeps, you get to the Finals to win a championship, there are no # 2's! Lakers lost twice in the Finals, '04 and '08! Missed the playoff's one year, and took a Gasol trade to put you above most teams if not all teams in the NBA... Not complaining, just pointing out the obvious!

Lakers fans need to shut the up. The Spurs haven't fallen off at all this decade, they've got more wins than anyone in the last ten years. Never missed the playoffs and are the only in team with 10 53+ win seasons ever. SHUT THE UP. It's in envy worse than the Mavericks, because the Mavs ain't never won .
Kobe cant win on his own, it's proven, he needs a big man to defer to. Shaq piggy backed his ass to three les, then Kobe quarterbacked the biggest JV squad for three seasons of jack , then he cried like the that he is and Buss and Kupchak raped Memphis of Gasol, then his JV squad lost to the Varsity. Kobe had to take his championship from a real JV squad in the Magic, and not to mention they BARLEY got past a busted up Houston team. THAT'S HOW IT IN IS. DEAL WITH IT SUCKERS.
