We beat the same team that berstomped you a year later. Happy? What do you mean beat by your team in 04? The fluke shot by Fisher is the only reason you guys made the Finals that year.
As if Duncan's shot right before that wasn't a fluke as well? I'd argue that Fisher's shot was the easier of the two to make. And before you start rambling about the shot clock not starting on time anyone with a DVR can clearly see that the Lakers should have been awarded 0.8 seconds on the clock instead of 0.4.
Furthermore, the 0.4 game was not the last game of that series. The Spurs didn't put up much of a fight in Game 6.
You Spur fans seem to enjoy whining and blaming all of your franchise losses on everything but the inferior play of your own team. The bottom line is the Lakers were better than the Spurs in 2004 and that's why they won that series.
so what happened in the Finals? a 4-1 drubbing by vastly unheralded Pistons team that the spurs beat a year later.
LOL Malone
LOL Payton
LOL Kobe
LOL Shaq
Why are you talking about an accomplishment ANOTHER team made when YOUR team got beaten by the Lakers? That's the epitome of stupidity.
You have reading problems.
No, he can read. It's just that he has comprehension issues.
You and your brethren apparently don't understand the rules of talking.
You can't talk about ANOTHER team's accomplishments over a team when YOUR team got beaten by said team.
I doubt it. He read the post wrongly. He can't read, period. He missed out something in the post.
Since when? Spurs beat Pistons in 2005. Lakers lose to said Pistons in 2004. Spurs > Pistons > Lakers. I can play that game too.
Ok aptly named,
Having said that, they why is it your brethren feels the need to start talking about the quality of Eastern Conference Teams during relatively the same period that your team couldn't either advance to meet or just plain beat?
Isn't the whole point of the OP is to talk about another team's accomplishments?
You moron. I'll make it simple so you can understand andConfused.
2004- Lakers beat the Spurs. In the Finals, the Pistons hammered Hollywood's doll to submission via 4-1 drubbing.
2005- Now that same Pistons team that put that stacked Lakers team to shame was defeated by the Spurs in a thrilling seven-game series.
2004 was merely an aberration since the Lakers don't have any business in the Finals of that year.
I hate to break it to you but the OP is clearly a troll. Probably a Mav fan in disguise if I had to guess.
So it was an aberration that the Lakers beat the Spurs 4-2 in the 2004 WCF?
Do Spurs fans really believe that?
Yes. If .04 was missed by Fish, Spurs win that series. But alas, lucky shot. That's basketball.
It was a fluke, no more no less. That's the reason they got faceraped by the Pistons in five games. They simply have no business playing in the Finals.
thread was unnecessary.
Please tell me how Duncan hitting a fadeaway from the top of the key over a fully extended Shaq was any less lucky.
In comparison to that shot Fisher's was actually a lot easier to make.
So it was a fluke that the Lakers won 4 games over the Spurs in the 2004 WCF?
This is what you seriously believe in your head?
Yes, absolute fluke. You do realize luck is involved in winning a few games throughout any sport, right? Surely you have heard the term, "I'd rather be lucky then good" haven't you?
The only one I agree with you on is the 98 Pacers. That team was light-years better than the old broken down one that made the Finals by default two years later. They became significantly weaker once they made Jalen Rose offensive option #1. As for the Knicks, no way they'd have the firepower to touch the 93 Suns. They didn't even have enough to take the '94 Rockets. As for the Magic, they were swept by the Rockets and Bulls, so it's hard to think they'd have a lot of success with a Sonics team that was probably just as good as the '95 Rockets and not that far of a step down from the Bulls.
If Fishface missed his once-in-a-generation shot, series over. There is simply nothing the Lakers can do to get back in the series if he missed it. Meanwhie, no way that the Lakers are better than Spurs in that series as well. However, there's nothing we can do to outdo what Fishface did. He made his shot and that's it.
The loss was bitter for me but seeing the Lakers getting faceraped and double-penetrated by the Pistons in the Finals was more than enough vindication.
The best part is, Spurs beat the same Pistons team in the Finals one year later![]()
The fluke wasn't Fisher's shot. The Spurs blew their chances when Turkoglu crapped himself that series. The fluke was Minnesota losing their two point guards, thus giving LA an easy WCF matchup. A healthy TWolves team vs Detroit would have been a of a Finals.
What if Duncan missed his shot? Watch this video and tell me which shot was harder to hit? They were both fluke shots.
No one is disagreeing with you dude. happens. Relax
