Mark Cuban is the court jester of the NBA. He's a straight up clown and an embarrassment to the Owner Brass establishment. He doesn't know how to assemble a winning team nor does he deserve to with his clownish mentality. He doesn't take winning or the league seriously. The Mavs are back peddling and that 2006 epic meltdown pretty much sums up the organization in a nuts ...too bad because guys like Rolondo Blackman and Mark Aguire worked their asses off to help Dallas even get established as a recognizable team and he's ruined it all...It appears he's willing to go down in flames with Nowitski as his ace in the hole. Dirk never really had a chance in this black players league no way in was Dirk going to lead them anywhere. He better hold that Media VP trophy tight.

As for assemblage of championship team... s hard and takes some luck... to the credit of the Mavs, the 2006 Mavs were very well assembled and deserved to win a championship.
People dislike Cuban out of jealousy, period... when you're a billionaire, you can be do whatever the you want even if it looks foolish sometimes.

Most team would love to have an owner like cuban - the guy is committed to winning even if it costs him some extra million. How many owners do you see dumping talent just so they could save some money? He took a franchise and turned it into a perennial 50+ win team. Son, you are one dumb er.

his '"stupidity" has the Mavs winning 50 games + for 10 straight seasons. If the Bulls GM could act like a 10 year old at the expense of getting the Bulls to win like that, I'll take it in a heartbeat. I'm surprised with this team's continuity. After the 07 season, people started saying this team is on a decline and is in need of a major blow up, and to be honest I was one of them. You look at the Kings of the early 2000s the Shaq/Kobe of the 2000s the Pistons 03-08, Garnett's Timberwolves, Kidd's Nets etc etc. They all had success in the playoffs reached a peak/climax and then went on a major slump and decline until the team just blew up. The Mavericks remained a top tier team through out the 2000s maybe not a very elite team but at least they stayed consistent. Cuban has done a remarkable job in keeping the team intact.
No rings 10 straight seasons. And 1 measly finals appeance where Dallas choked to a lower-seeded team.
