Crap. I usually watch the national broadcast when it's on, but Vitale will be even worse to listen to than Sean.

Vitale is an interesting cat. I can see why people are completely annoyed by him, and I can see why people love him.
He yells far too often, is downright grating at times, has often immovable opinions, and when covering the draft he often overvalues US talent 10 times as much as foreign talent. (He's gotten a little better on that last point the last year or two; I think he was one of the people gushing over Rubio, and rightfully so.)
However, he is impressively enthusiastic, and that excitement is contagious if it's also a game you're hyped up about. Whenever a big game like Texas vs. North Carolina comes along, ie V's commentary helps me get more energized; if Texas is winning, it works doubly so. I think his love of the game is a good thing for college basketball, and while there may be (many) times he grates on me on Wednesday, I personally can't wait for him to get a little too excited over a great Manu Ginobili pass or DeJuan Blair effort play.
Does anyone actually have a reason why they like him? If you want to get pumped up for a game then sure he does a good job, but if I am already gonna watch a game then I don't any help caring about it. It's not like I'm getting personal and saying he's a bad guy, but damn when I here him talk I just wanna punch a hole in my t.v.
At real games I think he is funny. The only way he does annoys me is in the NCAA basketball '09 game when im playing

It's a good thing Jefferson isn't playing. It might have really confused me.

3. y V. will always be more important to y V. than the game in front of him.
I now will hunt down a radio so I can turn off the TV sound for the Spurs/Utah broadcast. Thx for the heads up.
